Pine Mica Silver Prius Club

I'd like to join too... if DuPree ever gets here! He's a SPM, and he's 2 days overdue It's only an 8-hour drive from Jacksonville; what's taking that darn truck so LONG???

 

Another new member of the Silver Pine Mica Club! I worked hard to find mine... it was really the only color I love-love-loved.

 

The SPM is a hard color to get. I had to wait a few extra days because the dealer was having a hard time getting hold of one. It's worth the wait though. I've only seen one other of this color in this area.

We're a special group.

YES WE ARE................. and my Wife AND I both love our '07 SPM Prius Touring !! B)

BTW...... have NOT seen any other SPM Prius on the road yet in the past three weeks we had ours..........
we just saw dark gray, driftwood, blue, red and white ones............... not even black or silver (or SPM) !!

Look at the "large" picture in my profile and you will see my Wife driving ours...........

The dealer told me they make fewer Silver Pines, that's why they are a little harder to get.

He also said it's not a very popular color, which is why they make fewer of them and why it's harder to get.

 

We just picked up our SPM last night. It was the only color we considered and man oh man was it a struggle to find this car with pkg #5. Was supposed to have the car on Friday but when we showed up at the dealership (Toyota of Manhattan--BOOOO!!!) they told us the car had "accidentally" been sold to someone else. We were known throughout the dealership as those guys with the green prius.

But we got it now and couldn't be more pleased. Go green!

Well, I can't legally and officially apply for membership in the SPM Prius club, as we still have ours on order. Hope to get it before too much longer - I'm getting older by the hour! Sigh. We ordered it with package #2 - and will get dark gray leather put on by a sub-contractor to Germain Toyota of Naples. Now here we're hoping and praying that the shop will do a good job!
Had to laugh the other day, because a friend who bought her second Prius a month ago asked me what color we were getting, and when I said SPM she let out a shriek. That's the same color as mine! Well, we hadn't seen her newest Prius, so were pleased that we both have good taste!

Hope the SPM Club gains members, status and respect as it grows and grows. Now, if I could only come up with a good name for this wonder-car! Sigh.

It's here! It's here! DuPree is here! I picked him up during my lunch hour, and we had a short 'bonding' trip back to the office. Can I officially join the club now?

 

Congrats! It's a nice feeling isn't it? Hopefully Wryter will be legally and officially joining right behind you.

I'm a pre-member too. My Silver Pine Mica is supposed to arrive next week, I have a VIN# for her. The port date was 5/31, and the dealer says he gets them 10-14 days after the port date. I wish there was a way to track the car! Also, I'm not sure if the port date is the day it leaves the port in Japan, or the day it arrives in our port here in the U.S.

That's funny -- our salesperson said SPM is one of their best-sellers and hard to keep on the lot! (After I'd called about two on their website that had already been sold. Mine had arrived the day before.)

My Wife and I were VERY, VERY "lucky"................... there were NO Silver Pine Mica TOURING with Package #5 and gray (cloth) interior ANYWHERE in the S.E.T. (South East Toyota) area, NONE.........
We originally gave the Toyota Dealer a deposit (personal check) and were planning to wait for 90 DAYS or MORE for one with this exact configuration. Well four days later we get a phone call from the dealer telling us he "found" one on it's way to port (Jacksonville, Florida) and it should be arriving at that port in about a week or so..... only problem was it was already "assigned" to another Dealer in North Carolina and he didn't know if it was sold (at THAT Dealership) or even under deposit. After he called them he found out it was NOT and he asked that Dealer if they could "trade" (vehicles before they arrive at port, while still on the ship) and they DID !! If it was NOT for this great fate, great piece of luck, we STILL would be waiting today and a couple of months more..................
Another GREAT thing was that we were able to ELIMINATE (cancel) that $699 ToyoGuard Plus Package they put on at port.... saved another $699 !! (Almost 99% of the S.E.T. Toyota's have it.......... forced to pay $699 for this useless, overpriced, package !!)
It seems that SPM Touring with Package #5 (gray cloth) is VERY, VERY "difficult-to-find"............... and a Package 6 (gray leather) is just a little bit easier to find, but still difficult !!
We really enjoy the color and would NOT have "settled" for ANY OTHER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Wife just LOVES BLUE, but the Seaside Pearl blue reminded her too much (almost exact color, like 99% match) of a troublesome Chevy Malibu she recently had (until 2003). When we actually looked at the two on a Dealer's lot (non-Touring)(Seaside Pearl blue & SPM) side-by-side we knew right then and there that the blue was NOT for us......... WE WANTED ONLY Silver Pine Mica............ NO substitute !!

 

Silver Pine was my first choice too - but when he told me he wouldn't be able to get one right away, but might be able to get a Magnetic Gray, I switched to the gray. But then he couldn't get the gray either... so I swtiched back to SPM... as long as I had to wait, I was gonna get the SPM. Can't wait to pick it up, hopefully next week.

Can I be an honorary member of the SPM club?

I wanted SPM, but we had trouble finding one. We had been to numerous dealers and been given the run-around about the potential of them finding one for us. My husband liked the Magnetic Gray, and eventually, I got impatient, and we went with the gray.

Whenever I see an SPM, I get a wistful feeling.

Of course you can be an honorary member. I don't know what the charter says exactly but I hope we would welcome all regardless of color.
