I smoked for almost 3 years, and then quit. I realized how stupid it was and finally, on a wing and (literally) a prayer, I managed to quit. It's been almost 3 years since I quit.

(On a personal note, I was hoping that this was more a discussion about a vessel you smoke meats in)

    Why quit?

Maybe, just maybe a loved one won't have to watch you die of lung cancer as I did with my mother a year and a half ago. After 60 years of smoking and thinking she was getting away with it, the realization came far too late about what she was leaving behind.

RobertG, Here is an option for Prius owners that smoke:

I try not to smoke in my Prius because when I do I get ashes all over the place :(

I would like to thank everyone for their response so far whether it be for or against.

And yes, please get the ashtray if you do choose to smoke in your car. Please don't pitch the butts out your window.

Why quit, well life is a little longer now, also if still smoking while being on 02 would make my clothes and my nose burn faster if a hot ash fell on my oxygen hose. So quitting was a good thing and I am not on 02 due to smoking it was from BAD doctors. undiagnosed Sleep apnea for 25 plus yrs. screwed up my lungs and heart. So if you all Snore really loud and not breath at night get help.

    too true

never smoked. Although, why do people start smoking anyways? That stuff stinks, and I cant be in the same room as a smoker (currently smoking).

Currently, the poll is showing 75.53% non-smokers. I was wondering how that ranks with the American average.
In another poll, it was determined that the majority of PC members are males which makes me believe that the average we are likely to settle upon will be closer to 23% than 18%.
Just thought I'd throw that tidbit in.

Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

Smoker here. Camel Lights or Turkish Silver, a little under a pack a day. Been smoking for about seven years, no desire to quit - sorry but I enjoy lighting up. I haven't smoked much in the Prius but we've only had it for a month. I'll maybe have one (sometimes none) on my commutes to and from work where, in our old car, I would usually have four during that time (1 hour). Ashes do tend to go everywhere in that car - I bought a little LED light-up ashtray at Wal-Mart - cost: $2.86 - works fine. Why'd I start? Worst reason ever: I found out I could spend more time with this beautiful girl named Angelique if I took smoke breaks with her at work, yup, I started for a girl.

Smoker in remission here...I still consider myself a smoker since I still have the urge to light up and fight it on a regular basis. Smoked for little over 17 yrs. Quit New Years Day of this year and did it cold turkey...Have made it through two very stressful situations and beat back the urge to smoke. One thing helped was getting the Prius..decided not to smoke in it and with a two hour round trip commute every day that trimmed down my cigarettes.
