I have successfully paired my Treo with the Prius. Transferring the phonebook was quick and easy. I am placing and receiving calls well. I'm using speed dial and can use voice dial. However, none of my phonebook entries are identified when receiving calls. They all show up "not supported". I have manually re-entered some, placing a "1" before each area code, and that did not make a difference. I have full display selected on the car settings. Caller id is displayed on the phone each time, but not the car display screen. I had a 2005 Prius and a Razr, which displayed caller id, even for callers not in my phone book. My phone service is Cingular. Do you think this is just a compatibility problem with the Treo? Any suggestions?

Check your received calls log on your phone to see in what format your phone numbers are displayed. For me, I couldn't put a '1' in front of the phone number on the car's phone book, or it wouldn't match the entry up with the number received from the phone. They need to match exactly to get caller ID to display (however, my experience is with a 2005).

My wife has a Palm 650P (Palm not windows version) and we can't get our 2007 Touring Package #3 Prius to connect to her phone. It did with my RAZR phone. What version of the 680 do you have (P or w)? Did you have to do anything special to get it to see your phone? What cell service do you have? We have Verizon.

I have Cingular and the 680 Treo is Palm. Is that what you mean by "p"? The box only says 680. I followed the instructions in the Prius manual and on the 680 for pairing. If you wait too long after you tell the car to find it before you set the phone to be discovered, it won't be found. On mine, the pull down menu on the phone discovery screen had three discovery opitons - nearby devices, trusted devices and all, I think. I selected nearby. As I recall, the one thing it didn't specify in the instructions was to make a call to complete the pairing.
I tried many times before I was successful. I think at one point the Treo crashed and I had to remove the battery. After that, it worked. Still no caller id though. My phone numbers do match between the Treo and the car. :(

Palm currently has five models of smartphones. There are two 700 models, the 700p that runs Palm OS and the 700w/wx that runs Windows Mobile. The 650 and 680 run PalmOS. The 750 runs Windows Mobile.

The method I used, outlined in this post, for registering my Treo 650 with our 2006 Prius has been working the past few days. I was delighted to get a wrong number call on my drive home the other day.

    hope this helps.

We have a Sprint 650 and the caller ID works on our 2007 (similar to how it did on our 2004). If the number is in your Prius phone book, the related name should appear on the screen when the call comes in.
Make sure the numbers are identical. For us that means no imbedded dashes or parens because the 2004 wouldn't take them. Also, it's the name as it appears in your Prius phone book. We have a separate phone list that we use for the car because of confusion with home, business and mobile numbers. I set it up with just one number per name ID (again a 2004 requirement).

Be sure the 650 is running the latest Verizon update from Palm. RobertG's link is similar to how our Sprint 650 works. Actually the pairing and phonebook transfer went very smoothly on our 2007. I don't believe I had to make the call from my Treo during the pairing process and although I did go through the process twice, I believe it was just because I was too slow entering the pairing code.

    Priscilla,
What steps did you go thru to move your phone numbers from your treo to the prius? I cannot seem to figure it out.

I was able to get my Treo 750 contacts loaded into the Prius. My steps can be found in this thread: http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=32738
