    Dear Folks,

As some of you may know, I have ordered a Vermillion Red T-Spirit that is due to be delivered on 5th July. On 18th July, I am embarking on a 2500 mile round trip to Spain.

My question is about BRAS (the sort you use on your cars) - I have to admit that I do not like the black Bras - but the see-through Bras have the benefit of protection without looking horrid.

I have seen this (see below) on your USA EBay - is it any good?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOTA-Priu...83359QQtcZphoto

I think it would be a good investment to apply something even of only for the 2500 journey in a brand new car.

    Any thoughts, suggestions and advice???

    Andrew,
The clear bras are great, however, I would be hesitant to install it myself.
I would also go for top quality film (3M).
    Good luck...Dan.

I once worked at a dealership as a detailer for 3 years. I just want to tell you that in my experience, -NO- bra is good for your car. Leather ones get crap stuck underneath. Clear bra's turn brown and disintegrate over time, discoloring and damaging the paint. I personally won't put any bra on a car.

I don't know about the products from the old days.
Reputable clear bra manufacturers, in the current market, provide excellent warranties that cover most, if not all scenarios.

    Dear JimN

I have contacted Ventureshield in the UK to see the cost of applying the protection. If I go this route I will post a full report for our UK members, and maybe with the power of the forum we can get a good-bulk deal?

    Regards

    ANDREW

Personally..I would not drive a car with out clear bra!! I had clear bra on my 2002 Lexus IS300 and it protect my car till the day I traded in for a 2007 Prius. I also have full set of clear bra on my Sienna as well. Look for ebay seller "chipgardman". He sell geniun 3M film so it won't turn brown on you! Awsome seller to deal with! His price is a whole lot cheaper than Xpel.com which where I purchased my full kit for my 02 Lex IS300.

    Good luck with your Prius!

    azndragonx,
I am thinking about buying the film from "chipgardman". How did you have it installed- did you have it installed or did you do it yourself??

Do you have any pictures of your Prius with chipgardman's film on it??

    Thanks in advance......

I haven't get my kit yet..chipgardman shipped out the package yesterday and hopefully I will get it on this weekend. I have his kit on my Sienna though. I installed it myself since I did it once on my IS300 and it's not too hard but time consuming. If you want I can snag some pix of my Sienna with clear bra on.

This whole "see-through bra" thing just raises questions for me:
does Frederick's of Hollywood carry them?
Do they come in my size?
    are there multiple styles?
Can I get it in front-hook?

The first thing I did on my '07 was put on a side graphic, then had my windows tinted and "clear bra" on the hood, fenders, mirrors. All done at the same time by the same place and it turned out really good. We have many friends who have used this clear bra on cars they are towing behind motorhomes and have not found anyone that isn't very pleased with it. I can send a close up picture of the hood area if anyone is interested but I don't think you will be able to see it. It really is "invisible".

My first Prius and my first post at PRIUSCHAT. I'm addicted to this car! Anyway, I like the look of the OEM bra, not the clear 3M. Anyone know wher to get one online?

If you get a clear bra you need to refer to it as your deflector shield. B)
