My 07 touring is making a clicking sound from the driver’s side door. I( think the sound is coming from the area towards the back (i.e. the part of the door closet to the rear of the car).

It is definitely not coming from the engine or the brake system. What is interesting is that it seems to occur when the door is 'warmed' up in the sun. Given that I have a North to South commute in the morning, I get the noise each way.

Any suggestions as to what to look for would be appreciated, I guess something must be expanding due to the temperature increase.

    Regards

Me too! I have been trying to find that CLICKING. Maybe it's coming from the adjustable seat belt thing by the door? Please let me know if you solve it...

It is very easy to take the door panel off
    (1) get two screws off (one inside the inside handle, one behind the inside door latch)
    (2) pull the panel toward you with gentle increasing force. Start from the bottom edge.
    (3) disconnect 2-3 wire connectors once the panel is lossen

After that try to fasten any parts that could move or potentially could make the clicking sound
with tapes or foams. Put the panel back by reversing the steps from (3) to (1).

Give it a try and see what happen. ;)

A slight modification of Ceric's advice: pull up on the panel that has the controls for the windows, etc., and disconnect the big wire harness from the switches before you try to remove the door panel. You may also want to remove the tweeter housing and disconnect it, first, since the plastic interior door panel lifts up and off the window slot. It's not difficult, but not quite 1-2-3.

I've noticed a bit of clicking, too, when I rest my arm on the top of the door plastic. I think I may be flexing some of the plastic ribbing under the surface. But it hasn't bothered me enough to disassemble the door.

Well, I have moved/adjusted the hieght of the seatbelt on the driver's side and have not heard the noise anymore. However, I haven't taken the Pri out in the sun just yet so can't be sure it has fixed the problem.

To be sure, I have also heard clicking when resting my arm as well, but not to the same level of frequency or loudness.

I'll know by Thursday I guess.

BTW: Thanks to all for the responses.

OK, so its been a while ;) - been a little busy of late.

The clicking is still there rain or shine! Could still be temperature related though. I'll ask about it at my 5K service, till then I'll just grin and bear it.
