OK guys... help a girl out here. I've been reading this thread for a while.. and the more I read... the blurrier it gets :p I just have a few straightforward questions:

    1) If all I want is to input destinations/addresses into my GPS as my husband drives... does the Basic Lockpick @ $99 fulfill this?
    2) Is this mod really a single plug and play under the driver's seat?
    3) Does the basic lockpick remove the "I agree" screen?

Thanks in advance and I really admire all of you that have the cajones to dinker under the dash.... I'm just not that brave! (My husband is.. I just won't let him)

Anyone who wants the basic lock pick let me know I have one and since i don't have the nav package it is of no use to me. So i'll sell it 75 with shipping in us and canada.

Are you seriously saying you didn't know what year your vehicle was? Did you even look at the vehicle's paperwork when you bought it? What about the VIN?

Thanks Ricky for the basic lock pic. I have the unit installed and it works as far as entering destinations while in motion (a huge improvement!) The problem is I still have to hit the "I agree" button every time. I followed the instructions and been on coastal's website. They have no techical FAQs and no one answered the phone this afternoon. Any suggestions?

If you bought the basic kit from someone that had bought the full 3 kit set, it will not work for you. The basic kit is different and it will not work, if you don't install with the other kits. There are other posts stating the "I agree" does not work until you install the other kit or both. I am not sure if you have to install both before it works, but I have read it will not work by it self.

I had all 3 kit installed. The "I agree" works most of the time. Some times it does not, but as soon as I click on it, the "I agree" starts working again? It still beats having to click every time.

Just a bit of clarification - in addition to by passing the 'I Agree', does the Lockpick3 for $99 only enable the 'Address' button or all the features on the 'Destination' screen, such as 'Address', 'POI'....?

I suggest you do not do business with this "organization". They do NOT respond and have no customer service. I have made it my job to go through Priuschat and make sure any threads that mention them also point to this thread:

For the record I would like to let everyone know that Ricky Zinter is a decent guy. I made him aware of the problem i was having with the lockpick he sent me. Although I am using it as a basic lockpick it was part of the ultimate lockpick "combo"; he did not need the nav piece. Once I informed him of the problem he ofered me a refund or a further discount. I am using the unit to enter addresses while moving (HUGE improvement) but the "i agree" screen still appears. Still for half the cost of the basic unit, I am very happy.

    Thank you Ricky!

This was an earlier question that I never saw answered. If you order the basic version, by itself, does it allow you to use all features on the destination screen such as POI search? You can enter addresses with voice recognition, it's slow but works well for me. What I wanted to get feedback on from somone who has it installed is the full set of features that are unlocked. thanks

OK, I answered my own question. I was late for a flight last week and couldn't select the POI list while driving to verify the distance to the airport when traffic got heavy.

I Ordered the Basic Lockpick3 on the 15th using ground delivery and received it on the 21st. It took 2 minutes to install and does what I need. Pushing the "stick pin" button opens the destination screen and allows you to use any of the options to select POI's or enter addresses. The "I agree" screen automatically closes on start up. If you know the address of your desitnation it still is easier and safer, IMHO, to use voice recognition but it will be convenient for when you or your passenger really need to find something and don't want to stop.

Coastal Tech even included a sample bag of jelly beans in the box it came in as a bonus!!!

I'm about to take a dive and go w/ the ultimate package. From reading everything, even though I have a 2006 with package 7 (everything but leather) I still need to get the $299 Ultimate to enable the video?! I'm excited to do it, but I can't say that I'm excited to take my care apart without any help from experienced members. I'm living in Atlanta and am willing to drive a little distance for help or shoot, come on over and we'll have some beers.

So, to everyone else that has had the device for the last few months, how as the Video function been coming along? Everything still functioning well? Where do you guys put your RCA inputs for everything?

You said that you "took 30 pictures during the installation depicting each step of the removal and installation". Are these posted anywhere on the web or priuschat? Are there any posts that describe in more detail (than the costaletech instructions) how to do the installation? I just got the the Ultimate Lockpick3 and really don't know anything about car repair or mods. I got the center console off but got stuck when trying to get the air vent cover to the left of the steering wheel off. I am afraid of breaking plastic pieces by pulling too hard. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to take it for professional installation if I end up not being able to do it? Would the dealer do it? I'd really like to do it myself with better instructions.

ANYTIME REVERSE CAM? Is that an option that comes with the Lockpick 3? That'd be a cool option to have. Like in the Lambos...

RichmondPrius - Just curious, did you have any luck completing your installation of the Ultimate Lockpick3?

I finally installed mine over the Labor Day weekend. I thought it would take longer, but it only took about 2 hours (and that was with a break for a quick snack). I would be glad to share with you some installation tips, but you may have already installed it or found someone to do it for you. Just shoot me a message if you need any help.

By the way, the lockpick works perfectly. It took a while to receive the package, but I have absolutely no complaints about the product. Connecting a longer A/V cable is essential for a neat installation.

I have the cheap one on my 07. I think you are right. The cheap one goes only on the Nav (under the driver's seat). It has a small rubber-wrapped bit of electronics and a male and female plug that you put in series with one of the Nav connectors. Absolutely trivial to install, and perfectly removable and transportable to another car very easily. The "I agree" button beeps on its own a few seconds after it comes on. When you want to enter an address there is a new icon on the screen (a little push pin) which you push. When you push the icon, it turns off the speed input to the NAV. After you are done, it takes a bit of time (30 seconds to a minute) for the NAV to resynch with the GPS, but it is no real big problem.

I doubt that this affects the MPG reading since it is at the NAV system, and nowhere else. I don't know about the other versions that are turning off the speed input in other places.

Someone asked about customer service. My take: They are a small company. They have an answering service. They are overwhelmed, and the concentrate on fullfillment. They shipped my order quickly. When it did not come with hitch install instructions, phoned the service and never got a call back. I emailed and they quickly emailed me the instructions with apologies. My typical experience for general questions is that they answer pretty quickly, but also having spent only a little time on the answer. When I try to follow up, no reply.

I think the correct description is that they are friendly and have good products, but don't mistake being friendly for being your good buddies. They don't seem to have time for chit-chat.

.................after almost an hour reading this post I am just overwhelmed by all the Q&As.

Does anyone has pictures of the video output(or input) from the installation? I mean after the installation pictures where do you have it at, if there's one?

so just to have it clear...the $99 NAVI set won't affect any of the computers that came with the car right? i mean will it maybe interfere with other functions? will it cause permanent damage?

ok last question...can the video be played just through the AUX jack?

I might have more questions but too much information at once right now....so thats it for now...thank you.
