We own 2 Priuses. A 2006 and a 2007. The 2007 gives an audible beep when you lock the doors with the remote and the 2006 does not. Is that feature new to the 2007 or is it one of those things you can turn on and off? Any help would be appreciated. Also, can any one tell me how to replace the rear wiper blade.

    Thanks

If you can figure out how to make the 2007 beep when you lock it, post that, okay?
I've searched the owner's manual, and I can't find it!
My previous car beeped, and I miss that.

Wait... OP says 06 doesn't beep and 07 does. Last post says 07 does't. Help! I thought they all did. I can't remember if that is configurable, but I'm pretty sure it should at least be default!

Do you have a base package? If you have the Smart Key system (silver logo on the fob and a small black button on the two front door handles) you can lock the door by pressing the button on the door handle.

About the wiper blade, are you just wondering how to lift it up off of the glass so you CAN replace the blade? The wiper is held down by a plastic cap over the hinge area. Simply spread the sides of the cap a bit, and it will come off. You can then lift up the wiper blade for cleaning/changing/etc.

What a relief! Thanks for the post on how to "deal" with the rear wiper! I'll soon join the camp of "chopped and channeled" rear wiper housings! (grin) So - why did Toyota put in the tab? To keep the wiper blade from coming up in the air when the car is "at speed?" A mystery to me, for sure. . . .or maybe they just wanted to be sure we all take our Prii back to the shop for wiper blade replacement. . . . . .ah, yes.

Yeah. I wonder if the wiper will lift up at high speed with this mod.

    What has your experience been?

The wiper blade gets light on the glass at about 130 mph, but below that it's fine.

The car wash won't modify an unmodified rear wiper. YMMV
