Only sorta, and it isn't a video DVD...

The navigation system data is on a DVD in a reader under the driver's seat, but it's just for data. No way to watch movies on the MFD without after-market accessories.

I asked the dealer the same thing and the saleswoman didn't know. So, I guess it isn't a stupid question!! :) Anyway, She told me it WAS an actual DVD player and if I sat my daughter's car seat in the middle of the back seat she could watch movies as I drove. ( I swear to God this a true story)... Anyway, I believed her (She is supposed to be the expert, I didn't have a movie on me to check it out). and when I got my car home I of course found out that not to be true. So, after going back and forth with the manager a few times they installed the dual headrest video system... for free! Thank you very much Toyota!

So, to answer your question, no you can't watch Movies on your Nav system! ;)

Question: are you using the 6 disc changer as the DVD player for the headrest displays?

    thanks.

No, you put the DVD's in behind the screen. It is in the headrest itself.

Is there any state where the driver watching TV is not illegal? Even if there is, is there any state where the driver watching TV is not nuts?

I am not sure if it is JUST for the Prius but it works great.

Not sure if that is going to work... I can't figure out how to add a picture

    Hey, that looks familiar. :D

Toyota doesn't make an OEM DVD player for the US Prius. This system is an Invision setup that can only be purchased and installed by dealers. The headrest they use for it is out of a Highlander.

I have a Windows XP computer plus DVD on my Miata dashboard. A cop only once came to me at a red light and told me I shouldn't watch DVDs while driving, I started arguing with him and he said "Well, do what you like, I'm telling you you shouldn't." LOL So at least in NV I don't find this a problem with law enforcement.

I have an employee that watches movies on his laptop or ipod while driving. If he can do it without killing himself, well then I guess he's advancing the evolution of the genepool. If he kills himself off, well I guess this isn't a necessary survival tool our race needs ;) It's the safety of others that has me concerned.

Around here the employer can be held responsible for the employee's negligence. If the employee causes a collision on company time while watching the electronics and driving you may be paying the bills.

Agreed. His job doesn't require driving on company time. It's not having him show up some day that would make me sigh :(
