    Date Ordered: December 30, 2003
Dealer Ordered From (Incl. City/State): Michaels Toyota, Bellevue, WA
Timeframe given for delivery: none given
    Color: Salsa Red
Option Package: #3 - but flexible!
Your # on Dealer's Waiting List: #30 as of 5/13/2004

Haven't pestered them for a while. I wonder how many they receive each month. I've seen posts here ranging anywhere from 2 to 15 !!

Seems like they never receive any #3 option pckgs so I told them to put me down as flexible. But I will probably pass on #9. I don't need a NAV system to get me to work and then back home again.

    Update

    Now #18 as of 6/17
The salesman I talked to said they're receiving "between 4 and 8" Prii every month.

But he was more optimistic, since many of those "in front of me" are very picky. For example, there was a government agency on the list that wanted 2 vehicles, but package #1 only. There were other (private) customers with restricted options/colors who had been put on the list in October/Novemeber. There were others (clearly more flexible) who had been crossed off, so presumably they took whatever came in.

It looks like currently the clump of customers that appear more flexible got in line in early December...they will be the next to get the call. I didn't get in line until Dec. 30th.

So based on what he was saying, it looks like I might get a call in August (for a total of an 8 month wait!)

    I think they're really only getting #5, #7, and #9. I will take #5 or #7, but #9 is just too much $$$.

I ordered my Silver BC/9 from Michael's January 4 and received it last Monday...warning Crenshaw although they didn't raise MSRP on me they did add on the accessories package (carpet, cargo net/carpet, first aid kit) and glass breakage sensor. They told me that it just came from the factory installed...lying through their teeth. I turned many shades of red at that point I was so furious. They tack those options on when they place the order, knowing full well that I didn't want any extras beyond my package. Well when it was suggested he take everything out and sell it in the next Prius he threatened me with going to the next person on the list. I had previously ordered the carpets from Conicelli Parts in PA for 80 bucks so I told him that he should subtract that from the vehicle, and begrudgingly he did. Oh yes, this parts manager, or whoever he claimed to be (not the sales rep. that sold me the car) tried this charade where he blamed the Sales Rep. for not telling me that this comes standard on every Prius they order. By the way the sales rep.'s name is Scott Ruiz. Of course I will never buy another Toyota from this dealership.

    Re: Update

I feel the same way. I've been told that #7s are the ones they're making the most of; allocation figures from other regions posted on PriusChat tend to bear that out.

(I initially wanted a #6, but they never seem to make it to the Pacific NW, and I really *do* like the idea of the side airbags and VSC in the #7.)

    Why bother to ask?

    Now I am #12 as of 7/13/2004

this guy says they get "between 4 and 5 cars per month"

He said a bunch of other stuff that was either confusing or just plain wrong.

I really should have gone to downtown Seattle. I bet I would have it by now....

Re: Salsa #3, Bellevue WA, 12/30

I keep reading about people who "got the call". I'm not sure if this was the one...Perhaps it is a communication issue with my dealer, but he DID call me today to tell me they (Michael's) are getting 10 Prii in this month (what month? September? or from now until one month from now?). Anyway my name is on one. He said he would call me back Tues or Wed next week to finalize.

    [He didn't]

Make that 10 or 11 months. I stopped in today to find out WHY they had called me (I still don't know why) and I would only be able to get a car now if I changed my color preference to Black or Beige. I figured if I waited this long I can wait to get the color I want. Looks like they are still getting a lot of BC packages, but I am "first up" for an AM package and if it's red, well then I'm ready.

They get a list every two weeks and they had just gotten the list today (no red AMs  ). So I know I won't see a car before Halloween, maybe Thanksgiving!

Went by today to check on the latest allocation:

ALL BC packages, not one AM!!!

    Then, about 3 hours later:
"MR Crenshaw, we had a lady here to pick up a Blue AM Prius, but we couldn't arrange financing for her, you're next on the list. Will you take Blue?"

I said yes. I know I originally wanted Red, but I love the Blue, too!!

I was at that dealership within the hour!

I've tripled the miles on it already (had 7 miles, now has 21) !

Ah, the long wait has ended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
