Well, technically he doesnt get better fuel mileage, but he isnt paying for all his fuel. With a vegi conversion system you can get an effective mileage of 60mpg. I drive a diesel also.

My midget car pollutes less than your vegitruck.

And it doesn't smell like French Fries.

Piece of cake. I'll just have to get it in before you're zapped.

Beat that? How about a car that burns nothing? That runs on sunshine? Oh, and then there's my bike.

That wasn't so hard. Have anything better?

You better explain. You drive an EV. That would be Electric Vehicle. And you have Photovoltaic panels on your roof to recharge it.

(Hey Darell. If my home equity loan comes through on time I might have my PV panels installed by the end of the month!)

    http://www.dieselearth.com/notebook/bulk-vegetable-oil.html

    $3/gal - SAM's club, 35 lb. frying oil
    $4/gal - SAM's club, 1.25 gal frying oil
    $6/gal - Albertson's soybean oil

At those prices, your wallet will be depleted soon enough. In contrast, gas prices are already below $2.80/gal and I'm getting 52 MPG versus your 20 MPG. You're spending nearly three times as much per mile on fuel. This certainly makes me happy.

Well, from what I've read, heard, and seen about vegetable oil conversions on diesel engines, very little is actually done to get it to run. From what I remember they basically just had to make sure the tubes and such wouldn't leak oil. Running on vege oil has it's advantages, such as being able to used old cooking oil. Hell I remember hearing about it first on Ripley's Believe it or Not where the dude took a road trip in his converted 80s vehicle, and just went to the fast food places looking for old oil he could use. The only thing he had to do was put it through a strainer.

This isn't like the Biodiesel that is used sometimes, it's just straight oil.

Now, if he was actually buying it just to put in his car..... then he's just a moron.

He doesn't say he gets better gas mileage, he says he gets better mileage--which is blatantly not true. So much for redneck mileage expertise!

Some that have converted have done so because they have a deal going with a food place. They take the old cooking oil, strain it and reuse it. The food place doesn't have to deal with disposal and they guy doesn't have to buy cooking oil. Of course, your car usually reaks of French Fries.

Well, no. But that doesnt' change any of the answers, and we all like hearing ourselves type anyway... :)

So... should there not be some sort of indication when somebody is banned? I see nothing, and he still appears active - even in his profile. Am I missing something? How are we to realize somebody has been banned? On the boards I administrate, we put a big BANNED under the username so there's no confusion.
