I have been on the site for a few days and noticed many of the Prius owner shave added many accessories to their factory cars. I would appreciate if other owners would recommend their top three aceesories that have put or installed on their cars.

I am thinking the first accessory I want to add is the black hood deflector which would look great on my Super White. I also like the look of the MFD hood and have been readng about the EV mod, not really sure if I need that at the moment.

    Thanks in advance.

The top three extras that owners do (excluding audio & phone) are probably:

    - upgrade the tires

    - add a rack or hitch

    - add a scantool

Mud flaps do a great job protecting the lower body from splashes. They look good too.

    1. Ventureshield, as much as you can afford, but definitely the bumper and hood.
    2. Upgrade the tires (wheels were too expensive for me, but Michelin Hydroedge or Goodyear TripleTreads work well for the rubber) (The dealer told me that the original tires are good for warm, sunny weather...that's it!!!)
    3. Tint (all the way around)

Sorry, but can't keep it to three.

What I'll immediately do to my next Prius:

    BT tech plate
    Hood deflector
    Mud guards
    bumper guard
    MFD hood

I'll also make sure I have both the horizontal and vertical cargo nets, exactmats, dashmat and of course the tonneau cover. (They weren't standard on my first Prius.)

    These are the minimum.

    Here is what I did:

    1. Window tint
    2. HD & iPod addition/upgrade
    3. EV mod.

How many of you have problems with the paint getting dings? I've only had the car for 2 days and seeing some of these blemishes.

For the past days of ownership, I say one thing to get is a roof rack and some tint.

    1. bra
    2. tint
    3. better tires

the nose takes a lot of damage, so we got the bra pretty early. tint came a few months later when it got hot. we couldn't afford new tires but had no choice when they wore out at 28k. the difference is substantial.

    Well only 3? mm...

If you dont want to spend a lot of money I'd say go for the

    BT plate
    Tint

If you have the money then...

go for a tire upgrade... or maybe even wheel upgrade... try staying light so you wont have such an impact on mpg (the main reason for getting a Prius)... Also you might want to add some of Toms racing suspension equipment... and the TRD sportivo kit... I went ahead and added some nice aftermarket HID since mine had none... works for visibility...

hope this works for you and enjoy your car!

Everything listed isnt really a mod, they're just accessories so far. Tint, tires, bra, etc... all things you can easily buy and install yourself. OP is talkin Mods from Toyota that are either hard to do yourself or expensive. My list:
    1. Panaramic sunroof (my tC has one and I LOVE it!)
    2. Either a shift-tronic or manual tranny option.
    3. More engine info! (I know scangage and things like that can do it, but from the factory, it would be nice to see engine temp, tach, voltometer, etc..)

Thanks to all that weighed in, it is greatly appreciated. I love my car and plan to add some accessories very soon. I will definitely take the advice of the above members. I find myself addicted to this site and lurking for all the info I can get.

Here is my list for accessories.

    1) hood deflector
    2) window tinting
    3) MFD hood
    4) mud flaps
    5) bra for front

    Thanks again.

    Mike :)

    1. Subwoofer professionally installed.
    2. LED replacement of all the interior bulbs and license plate.
    3. Anti slip, rattle pads in all the cup holders.
    4. Leather wrap the center arm rest.

    Opps I can't count.

My top three mods, probably in order:
    1. Tint
    2. Mudguards
    3. BT Plate

New tires are are important, but I can't justify until OEM's wear out.

    Accessories:
    1. touch-up paint
    2. hitch receiver & basket
    3. roof rack

    Mods:
    4. BT plate
    5. Wheels & Tires (I wouldn't bother "upgrading" to a different set of 15" tires)
    6. TRD suspension

EV mod for an '06? That one won't be simple...

    (I've done #1-4 on the '06, 1-5 on the '05)

Since the OP asked about accessories, not mods, here are three items I've found to be very beneficial:

    1. MFD hood
    2. Weathertech mats (front/rear/hatch)
    3. Sunshades

Please let me know where you got the Anti Slip, rattle pads for the cup holder. That drives me crazy.

    Top three for me.

    1) EV Switch
    2) BT Stiffening plate
    3) Subwoofer upgrade with speakers

Might as well do all of the door armrests as well. The cloth does NOT hold up well.
