Anyone out there Folding@Home?

After I finish my current WU, some time early tomorrow morning, I'll be shutting down for the summer. I'll be away from home, hiking in Canada for much of the time, and back home between whiles too short a time to make much difference. I'll resume folding after I'm done hiking.

I've been amazed how fast this iMac has shot up in the ratings.

I'm not sure what's going on either, but a number of people disappeared for a while when I checked earlier using fahstats.com

It had me listed as #1 earlier when I knew that I was in 3rd. Now it seems to be working properly.

The journey into the low 500's is a tough ride. Our opponents mostly cranking at least 13,000 point per week. To overtake them, we need to crank at least 13,000+ point.

I got some good news and bad news.:blink: :huh: I will be shutting down my folding farm from 7/21 till 7/28. I'm on a quest to the sunny CA and sniffed some smog.:lol: I will be back in action after 7/28. Also, I'm hoping my quad core machine will be ready for action in Aug.

 

Just finishing a GPU WU. I'm shutting down my folding now. I'll be back in a week.

Wildkow, crank up your computer and catch up some points. Clearview22 is catching up with 20+k point/week. I'm warming up the no. 1 seat for both of you (first come first served).

Oh, my PS3 is history. Due to the price change, I returned the PS3. Still have my PS2 and PSOne. Too bad, I can't find a folding client for my older PS2 and PSOne. :lol: :lol:

I do miss the PS3 since it crank about 7000 points/week. But I more anxious to get my Quad core beast up and running.

 

545 at the moment, that's pretty impressive. Didn't really expect us to break 1000. I'm cranking up the PS3 this weekend. Should help backfill some of the points I'm remiss in contributing....-bigdaddy

 

Unfortunetly I've had to slow down on the folding recently. The weather has been so warm recently (close to 100) it's tough keeping the machines from melting. I don't mind leaving the machines on during the day while I am gone at work, but I feel pretty guilty also leaving the A/C on just for the computers while no one is home. I'm looking forward to cooler weather in a few months, and I'm always on the lookout for computers that are sitting idle that I can install FAH onto.

Get your vacations out of the way and get back to the heavy lifting of folding! It should be interesting to see the impact of Quad cores on folding, now that a Q6600 goes for $300 shipped to your door.
I checked on the price of a Dell XPS-410 just for the heck of it and they do offer a Q6600 for a premium of $600.00! I'd wait to buy a factory box until the new wears off of the Quad coreness, build your own much cheaper. Penryn is on the way! OctoCores next year! Where is that application for a "low interest" refinance of the house?
