    Hi everyone.

My name is Andrew Beckford and I wanted to inform you all of an event that I am organizing that I feel may be of interest to Prius enthuisasts.

I've actually posted this on other parts of the forum but it appears as if not too many people cruise through the sections where I've posted before, so I thought I'd give it one last shot in the Main Forum.

I am working with Toyota to extend an invite Prius Car Club members to the 34th Annual Rolex Monterey Historic Races at Laguna Seca Raceway August 17th-19th in Northern California.

The Monterey Historic Race is one of the biggest 3-day automotive events in the country and people come from all over (even from overseas) to attend.

There will be plenty of sights to see and things to do courtesy of Toyota including a Car Club BBQ on Saturday evening and a "Race Of Legends" which features living legends of motorsports racing each other in Scion tCs.

Toyota has been a sponsor of the Monterey Races for several years and Hybrid technology is a cornerstone of this year's theme. As such there will be an exhibit on the evolution of Hybrid technology within the Toyota company as well as glimpses into what's next.

The Toyota Bonneville Prius will also be on display.

There will be a special infield "Car Corral" area for all car clubs that attend

Toyota will also be offering prizes for the following catagories:

-Best mileage (Specifically for Prius owners)
    -Highest odometer reading
    -Lowest mileage on pre-1987 cars
    -Furthest distance traveled
-Most people who arrived in one car
-Best of Show (judging apperance, modifications, interior, and rare parts)
    -Most original design/display setup
-Car Club with most members in attendance.

This event would be ideal for a Northern California Prius club that may post on this board. Although I've asked about that and Im not sure if there is a NorCal club here. However if you're in SoCal or that reigon it would make a cool road trip and if you're one of those who knows how to squeeze the most miliage out of your Prius then you could go for the prize and the bragging rights.

If you are a leader/member of a Prius Car Club and would like to attend please contact me at [email protected] and I will give you all the info on registration.

I hope to see you there!

    Hi everyone,

Just reminder that the deadline is fast approaching so anyone who wishes to register for the event can do so at this link:

    http://www.rwb-llc.com/historics/carcorral/

There are also a few updates to announce.

-All registered car owners will recieve a free Toyota folding chair upon arrival

-We are erecting a private Skybox accessable only to Toyota car corral members over Turn 2 to watch the action

-We are featuring our "Forces of Change" exhibit in the pit area which highlights all the innovations throughout history which have contributed to Today's Hybrid technology as well as giving glimpses into what's next for the Prius and other Hybrid cars from Toyota.

-The Hydrogen-fuled Toyota "Fine-S" concept will be on display. The Fine-S illustrates perfect harmony between fuel responsibility and efficiency and performance.

Why aren't you northern Cal Prians onto this event.? If I were in the country I'd be all over it, "like a twister on trailer park"

There's no noticible Toyota support or interest for Prius owners down here, and I'm actually envious of your opportunity to go to something like this.

Or am I missing something? (again?)
