Has anyone had any luck transferring their phone book from the Verison RAZR to the Prius?

There has been talk of being able to do it, but none re: the Verizon Razr phone.

Am I spinning my wheels? I can of course input them manually into the Prius, but why reinvent the wheel!!

I understand there may have been some RECENT changes by Verizon due to a class action suit, but using the search function does not elaborate furthur.

    Anyone?

You won't be able to transfer your contacts to your Prius *if* you have a Verizon V3c or V3m RAZR without doing something radical, like flashing your phone with another carrier's firmware. The newer Verizon RAZR models, the K1m and maxx Ve, have OPP for vCard and, as such, allow for such transfers.

FYI, the class action suit involved the Motorola V710, specifically, the way VZW advertised the V710's Bluetooth functionality. Simply put, it was not able to do what Verizon claimed it could do. Consequently, V710 owners were offered the choice of canceling their contracts or obtaining another phone model free of charge. The problem is Verizon didn't do much of anything to ameliorate the underlying issue other than highlight the fact that certain models did not have full BT functionality and that's precisely what they did with respect to the V3c and V3m models. IOW, they didn't rectify the issue until later BT phones were released (like the RAZR maxx and K1m).

So, unfortunately, if you have one of the older VZW BT phones, your only option is to upgrade to a newer model that has OPP for vCard.

Take a look at this article:

Bluetooth updates to the Razr V3c?

    And, from Verizon's own site:

Yep, OBEX, whether enabled or not, really makes no difference for the purpose of contact transfer from a V3c/V3m to the Prius via Bluetooth. You *still* need OPP and there's just no way to enable OPP on a Verizon V3c or V3m. The only thing enabling OBEX would allow one to do in this instance, would be file exchange/transfers between a computer and the phone. For contact transfer with the Prius BT system, as we all are painfully aware, one needs to be able to "push" contacts from the phone to the car and OBEX, alone, just doesn't accomplish that; you need a phone with OPP enabled.

OPP *could* be enabled, thereby allowing contact transfer, on a Verizon V3c or V3m *but* that would require flashing the phone with Alltel's firmware.

I have a 2008 Prius and just got a Razr Maxx (model XT912 if that matters). I have had no success in pairing the two and can't figure what I'm doing wrong. I'm assuming this should be possible. Can anyone make suggestions?
