Older?? Hey, I'm only 28! You do not have to be old to be an informed and conscious citizen or someone who loves great coffee.

Starbucks does have organic coffee and they do a lot to help the environment and charity orgs.

    I would direct you to

I do love the starbucks. But I just dont want to become dependent on a stimulant for my body to awake. The prius powers itself, why cant our bodies?

And this one, although they don't listen to NPR :(

Unfortunately if I don't have large volumes of coffee per day my ICE shuts down. Also unfortunate is that I am not a hybrid. <_<

NPR? No, but mainly because I prefer music when I'm driving rather than talk over the radio. Can't even stomach the morning shows. I switch primarily between KFOG and Energy 92.7 (when I'm not listening to CDs).

Starbucks? Sure. Peets has much better coffee but Starbucks makes a decent Iced Tea. And I love Iced Tea. Plus Starbucks breeds like rabbits. There are 3 (!) within walking distance of my apartment.

NPR = yes, actually MPR locally (Minn. Pub. Radio - home of Prairie Home Companion)
Starbucks = only if in B&N, otherwise Dunn Bros Coffee( Mpls best coffee from TC Reader poll I believe)
    Target votes anyone ?

Love Starbucks. Dislike NPR. Rather listen to P!nk... :) Your assessment sounds fairly accurate...

"Wise in their political views," funny... In my experience most Prius owners are left-wing liberal nut-jobs?

    Love you all though.

NPR? Rarely . . . except when on days or weeks long camping trips and out of range of good music.

Starbucks? God NO! I can rightfully boast that I have never paid for a Staryucks coffee. I have had friends treat me (peer pressure - "gee thanks"  ), or have tried free samples at seminars and conventions. I do have to admit, Starsucks is very consistent . . . consistently BAD!!! That stuff is corporate, mass produced swill. <_<

Dunkin' Donuts? (you gotta be kidding, right?) No, not kidding. I too was surprised at how good their coffee was. Sure as hell beats Starmucks.

    Peets Coffee?
Yeah, I use to be a Peetnik. Consistently good coffee! . . . But I have recently been ruined . . . even for Peets!!!

Sin of Cortez? (huh? ) Oh yeah! Last week I had the best iced mocha I have EVER had at a place called Sin of Cortez, located in Chico, California. My nephew also raved about his coffee. http://www.sinofcortez.com/philosophy.html

This was sooooo good that I have not been back to Peets since that fateful day. THAT IS UNHEARD OF!!!!!
Mercifully, if I get a serious enough hankering, Sin of Cortez is only 90 miles away . . . AND I HAVE A PRIUS!!!!!!!
P.S. The food was outstanding too!

I don't drink coffee. If I did, I'd frequent Kensington Coffee, a long time establishment in the Kensington neighborhood and never Starbucks. In fact I resent that my Vons grocery store has remodeled and put a Starbucks in the store. Taking up space. And now I can't find some of the products I used to. Seems they've cut down on their variety. I blame Starbucks.

I have my radio set to two different classical stations and NPR. I rotate between the three depending on who has the best reception where I am.

NPR- absolutely! We probably have the only Prius with every NPR station between here and Columbus,OH on the station selection list, though Cleveland has some good classical alternatives.

Starbucks - I prefer the Hazelnut Creme stuff you grind yourself from Sam's Club, but my wife likes to indulge in cappuccino from Starbucks when we travel.

I guess I'm an 'old folk' at 56.

O.k. I guess I was wrong the Starbucks thing may not apply to MOST Prius owners. The NPR thing may hold some water but it is leaking fast.

Sin of Cortez does sound awesome, I like their coffee mantra:
Unfortunately I no longer live in Cali, it would've been pretty far from San Dog anyway. Maybe I'll think about it next time I visit the in-laws near Frisco. That is if I take the Prius. :)

You are going to drive all the way to Chico (and back) for a cup of coffee????

      ;)

No . . . unless the hankerin' is that bad . . . then maybe I'll concoct a reason for going to Chico.

"Hey honey, let's do 'Adventure No.25' and go tour the Bidwell Mansion in Chico . . .
    http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=460
. . . and while we are there, let's go to Sin of Cortez for breakfast and a coffee."

Yep, I could see that happening.
    It's THAT good! ;)
I even jokingly asked the nephew who was on that trip if he wouldn't rather attend Chico State, rather than the University of California . . .

Starbucks: Yes, as they always have soy available for my latte. The little local stands either don't have soy, or they all buy the cheapest soy around. At least at Starbucks I'm getting organic, enriched soy.
NPR: I wish. The closest NPR station is so far away it's barely fringe here, and it's supposed to be a Jazz station, but all they do is talk. That's fine, if they came in strongly enough. I listen to a low-powered FM station, which plays 50-70 rock, no commercials, no news, no TALKING. :)
I also listen to CDs ... motivational, musical, educational.

    NPR - yes, of course
What is Starbucks? (that is a "no")

As far as other Prius personality factors, I would guess that a higher percentage of Prius drivers use a Mac (vs. PC) than the general population.

    MAC- yes..yes..yes.. :D

Coffee-Everyone comes to my house for the best coffee! I use Obsidian dark roast from Caribou, either organic cane suger or damara suger and the best creamer.. Organic Valley half & half(the creamer makes the biggest difference next to the actual bean. Oh, i buy whole bean and grind it every couple of days. But if I must get coffee, I like Caribou much better then Starbucks. Dunkin donuts makes my stomach hurt!! I can't stand it

Radio-AM news radio since traffic is very unpredictable in Chicago, and I'm on the road a lot. Otherwise CD's or Ipod.

NPR (or, Minnesota Public Radio, here) - Yes.

Starbucks? Nope. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been in a Starbucks in my life - seeing as I don't drink coffee.

I do not drink coffee at all.

As for "highly above average in intelligence" and NPR in (almost) the same sentence? What is up with that?!?! ;)
