I recently last week bought an 07 Prius. Can one go back to the dealer and request to back out of the service plan? I paid too much, but it was discounted some. I knew no difference because I have never purchased a new car before. Did not know the history of the prius and was not aware of this web site. Sure would be nice to get the cash back. I do have a loan with toyota finance and the cost of warranty was added.

I called the dealer. What they said was a $30.00 cancel fee. May be the way I want to go. They took from me $1,300.00 hundred for a 6 year 100,000. The finance guy said the car has many expensive parts on it. I think I may go back. If nothing else to bargin a better deal!

You should do some more research. Extended warranty information is available here. I believe the dealer in Michigan mentioned sells for much less than you quoted.

I will go to the dealer and get it back. I will not inform them of this web site! Wish I would have done my research first. I did mention the fact that I thought I would wait until later to decide and thats when he jumped in and said he would discount it now. He started at 1500 said he could go to 1400 and was supose to get approval for that even. He came down to 1300 after I leaned the way to forgot it all together. They say what ever it takes to get you sign that day.

    DON'T!!!

Feel free to cancel your policy, but do not inform your dealer where you can get the same plan for less. You will ruin it for everyone else.
