Finally got round to taking some pictures when it wasn't actually raining! For the US members, spot the mystery Toyota behind! :)

I'm surprised that car passed Quality Inspection. The steering wheel's on the wrong side!

Actually, that's pretty neat with the (POWER) button right next to the door.

Congrats. She's a beauty.

I also spotted a few other differences...
It seems the UK prius have better quality floormats, with trimmed and stitched borders rather than thin-gray carpet with the border stamped into it. Also, your windshield wipers dont have the mechanized wiper that the U.S. cars seem to have on the passenger side. And another, UK's leather seating seems to have more detail to it...

Congrats!

Carpets are the same in Canada. The offset swinging wiper arm is entertaining. Too bad you don't get it in the UK. ;)

So now we know why the UK and Canadian Prius are so much more expensive. Better floor mats. <_<

OK. I give up. What is that 'mystery' Toyota behind the Prius. It looks like the 'Smart' car. - Marvin

It is an Aygo. Small city car but room for 4. This one which I bought for my wife has an automatic gearbox, A/C, and leather seats! Tiny boot. Scores well in crash testing and has a 1 litre 3 cylinder engine. Great little car and CO2 is 106g/km compared to the Prius' 104. An inside view! Have a look here!

Picture of the inside! [attachmentid=10545]

Not sure what you mean about the wiper. The driver's side is about twice the size of the passenger one but you get good coverage. Of course they are fitted to the correct side in the UK! :p

Darn, you already gave the answer for the mystery car lol.

Yeah the carpet mats are the same as the Canadian ones and the factory leather looks better actually.

With regards to the wiper, on our Prius models, we have a rather large "cover" that goes over roughly where the base of your passenger side wiper is. It sorta jiggles around as it operates (similar to what the Mercedes "one wiper of death" does but minus the "dipping" motion). In your vehicle, the passenger side wiper arm is identical to the driver's side with the arm bolting directly to the windshield base. (or whatever you call that plastic piece).

Another difference I've noticed is the placement of the fuel filler release switch. Ours is closer to the door sill whereas theirs seem to be closer to the driver's seat.

You guys get the larger 16" wheels. We have the 15" wheels as standard equipment (16s opt. in the US only).

In Japan, they get both wheels depending on the model.. in Australia/NZ, I believe it's 16" only.

Hey Peter,
Nice motor - now what mods are you going to fit.
I got my new black Spirit three weeks ago and it already has quite a few mods fitted.
I've had a few problems getting stuff from the US but have overcome a few by emailing direct for items such as the BT Tech Plate which should be here this week.
I purchased a sharkfin off eBay from the main supplier for the US and it arrived painted within 2 weeks, fitted and looking great, reception no problem.
Have ordered the Block Heater today from the main site purchase.
If you want a Scan Gauge go onto eBay UK there is an agent in Greece - received mine in 5 days.
So let us know what you are going to do.

Yes, Australia only has 16" but we only have two models - a base model and a fully optioned model.

And, to ruin your day, see that lever on the driver's seat - height adjustment

Also note the EV button next to the POWER :)

Both standard in the base model here in Aust.

Apart from the leather seats it doesn't look any different from my 2005 model but I'd be interested to know how the sat-nav compares. Which version is it? And are France, Spain, Ireland etc. very patchy on it?

Must confess to being quite keen on the sharks fin - not sure what the other bits are! The block heater would seem sensible though my electricity in the garage has gone off and it is a long way from the house! What is a BT Tech plate!!? Or indeed a Scan Gauge! (I'll search for these once I have finished my surgery! Posting between patients is not good!) :D
Averaging 51mpg for first tank - all town driving mostly journeys are 15mins or less. Quite impressed!

My Australian Prius has 15 inch wheels same as US wheels.
Aust Prius has fat left wiper, but like the brits we don't have a power outlet on the dash. UK and Aussie dash is the same. We get same mats as optional extra. The pommy wheels look good, I like em.

Very nice car and I like the Aygo too, poms get all the good cars. I hired a Yaris over there 2 years before we got the Yaris here.

Not sure - it seems to do Norway for some reason! It does have the parking aid (hilarious if a bit slow!) but I don't think much else has changed. I'll check tonight!

Hmmm... is the Aygo the same car as the Echo Hatchback that was sold in Canada prior to the Yaris? It looks very similar...
Edit: Actually, the Echo HB had a larger (4-cyl 1.5L?) engine, but the body/interior look very similar.

With respect to the UK Prius, I like the side markers and am very jealous of height adjustment on the seats (as per AussieOwner's post, though I don't see it in the picture...?).

I also find it interesting that the shift lever is mirrored as well... don't most vehicles generally keep the same manual transmission gear-select configuration for both RHD and LHD vehicles?

We're not any better. There are only 3 packages in Canada. Base, everything else sans nav and everything + nav.

Oh and I have the EV mod :p

Also note that your rear wiper is different from ours. We have a short "fat" one while you guys have a normal (and longer) wiper that you can lift up without taking off a cover.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Sarge @ Aug 13 2007, 08:46 AM) </div>
It's not the same. It's smaller than the Yaris. The vehicle was collaborated with Citroën and Peugeot (which have their own version)
