When I bought my new/used Prius it came with the 15" wheels and another set of 17" wheels and low profile tires. The tire sensors are in the stock wheels and tires which are on the car. My question is; when I put the custom wheels and tires on, I don't want to move the sensors. Is the only consequence that there will be a light that says low tire pressure and that's it. In other words it won't beep or blink obnoxiously?

Another question, and I know that I can perform a search and find the answer about turning off that stupid back-up beep. Maybe someone can just forward me the link to the proper procedure to turning that off. God, that is obnoxious for sure!!

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have 17's on my car for the Summer and yes, the light is the only drawback, they've been on since April. Search the posts, in the mods area, there are some great hacks to override most issues. I'm not certain about the light, but I'd imagine it's there.

I've read that when the tires with the tps are stored near the car it gets confused so the light may not be on all the time.

Look for john1701a's manual. I just noticed I can't post an attachment.

I cannot post an attachment now either? I have been having that problem. Then last week I suddenly could. Now I cannot again? Any ideas on why?

I am sorry I don't mean to change this thread. But when JimN said he couldn't, it caught my eye.

Do you really think that this is an appropriate item to be discussed in the "Prius & Hybrid News" forum????

(Next time try using the "Prius Technical Discussion" forum section.)
