I recently added a DICE iPod unit to my 07 with NAV. Thanks to many postings on this site, I was able to get it installed, get the dip switches set correctly and get everything put back together. It worked great the first day. The next morning, however, it was as if the DICE unit did not exist -- I had only AM radio and no access to my iPod through the AM/SAT button. I assumed that the plug came out of the back of the radio. I reached behind and found the plug still in. I gave it an extras shove to be sure but nothing changed. Based on postings I had read concerning the unit, I unplugged the wire from the DICE unit itself, waited a bit, and plugged it back in. I was back in business; iPod played through the SAT again and my problem seemed to have been solved.

Unfortunately, after about 20 minutes, I lost the iPod and had the AM radio kick on. Again, it was as if the DICE unit disappeared. I unplugged the unit, plugged it back in and again it started working.

This pattern of work for a while, stop working, unplug unit and replug it to get it working again has repeated itself several times over the last few days. Just to be sure, I double checked my iPod and confirmed I had the most recent version of the software running and I also did a reset of the iPod. Still having the same problems.

I've done a lot of searching of prior posts looking for this problem and have seen descriptions that sound like it but have not been able to find the solutions that permanently fixed the problem. I've also just sent a PM to Vagabond looking for help as well but expect he's pretty busy. If anyone has been able to overcome this problem, I'd appreciate it if you'd pass along your suggestions. I really like the DICE unit -- I'd like it a lot better if I could get it to work more permanently.

No, I got it last night - sorry. It's been a busy day. I'll get back to you by morning for sure.

Vagabond sent me a PM with instructions that have worked to perfection so I thought I would share them just in case someone else has this same problem and searches for an answer:

Power car all the way off. Unplug the unit and switch the DIP switches to MP3 mode. Plug the unit back in and power up. It has been three days now without it cutting out at all.

    Thanks Vagabond for your help.
