Well our new Prius is no longer pristine :( .
In less than one week I have my first scrape. It happened yesterday in the office parking lot. Seems the person next to me scraped my left rear bumper when they pulled out. I will try to remove the scrapes with some cleaner wax this weekend. If the scrapes go below the outer paint coating does anyone have a recommendation on the best way to repair the damage?
The irony is that I have been parking in the same spot with my old car for the last five years and never had anything happen, so now with a new car I get scraped in just three days. :(
    Thanks, Mike

one of the products that I use for minor scrapes and "hazes" is called GT88, it's as good as the stuff they use at the body shop. In fact when I was there on an unrelated subject they noticed a spot on the paint and proceded to "remove it" and when I got home I noticed some slight scratches where they had been working on it and removed them with GT88 and a soft cloth. And I have no connection with the company. It's just one of the products that I use to take care of my vehicles and only the ones that work stay in the kit.

I did an internet search (google) and found a number of places where you can order it online. Mike.

Thanks. I assume the instructions are on the bottle? I may need it to 'remove' some of the scratches off the Camry. Waxing didn't seem to help.

It's kind of a liquid paste hard to describe but just put a couple of drops on a soft cloth and rub in one direction only. On rubs and scrapes I'm not afraid to put a bit of muscle into it.

I was able to get most of the scratches off but there are two where the silver paint was gauged down to the black base. Has anyone had experience with a product that I can use to cover over the deep scratches. On my last car I used touch up paint that came in a small tube to cover dings and chips in the paint surface. Is there a recommendation on a simular product for the Prius? Thanks, Mike.

Welcome to I scuff my bumper club
Well if you want cover up the scratch, just paint over with touch up paint. Then excess paint able to remove with paint thinner. Paint thinner doesn't damage original paint because original paint is water base.
    Or
Just search local dent remove shop which offer touch up repair
I can't think name of the shop which I uses in Pittsburgh. But the shop is franchise store.

Thanks for the info, I did not know about the paint being water based and that the thiner will only act on the touch up paint. Mike
