We stood around talking for so long that by the time we realized what time it was, most had to go. It was great fun though.

Well we made the LA gathering and really enjoyed it...ended up going to griffith park afterwards...finally made it back to Ft Wayne and overall mileage was 48.8 for 5500 miles...speeds were anywhere from low city speeds to 85mph up and down mountains...we were fully loaded with the kids stuff so we were pushing bottom so to speak, additionally the a/c running constantly in the monsoon heat of Nev/AZ...we have done this trip twice now in the last 3 years...over 12000 miles of cross country and not a bit of trouble...we did notice a few quirks though, as you climb in altitude...and you get gas...after you put the gas cap back on...start the car...then shut it completely off...open gas cap, then close it ,then restart car...the computer will compensate for higher elevation and your mileage will be in the upper 40s to low 50s, if you dont cycle it, we had a 10mpg drop given that the car was running too rich...we thought it was a fluke at first but after 4 times of it we finally figured it out...until such a time we returned to about 800msl, we had to do a reset each time on gas fill for the computer to sense altitude change...

Howdy all -- I'm a newbie. Just got my Prius earlier this week. . . but I would definitely be up for an LA Prius gathering. So if y'all do anything, please put me on the list.

    Thanks!

nothing else to do, just stay tuned for the date and location. we just get together and oo and ahh over eachothers cars, plan on doing some drives if we have enough interest, also maybe lunch or something, but just getting together is usually the most fun, the website is www.clubofprii.rshepherd.net stay tuned for the time/date/ location.

    any ideas?

OK guys, ONE LAST TRY to get some input. I've gotten ZERO response from this last effort.

the last gathering really was quite enjoyable. Please respond via email ([email protected]) or here so that we can at least have a get together before xmas. once every other month seems like a good idea.

C'mon Angeleans !!!! I can't do it without you guys, I can see it now, me alone in a parking lot somewhere reading a book with the windows down. A cop pulls up wondering what I'm doing alone in a park......um....let's not go there. :)

Great, any ideas on where to meet???? I prefer suggestions instead of dictating where to go, I feel there is better participation. Anyone?

Hello -- yes, I'm a new Prius owner and would love to participate! Late September would be nice or perhaps sometime in October or early November. After that, folks start to travel for the holidays. I know it is difficcult to coordinate with so many people -- all with competing obligations and schedules. For myself, the sooner a date is selected, the better because I have a small business on the side that involves lots of weekend events.

So -- just to throw something out there and get the ball rolling, what does October 13th look like? That is a Saturday. I really like the idea of having lunch someplace too.

    Thanks!
    Kandoux

PS -- I just filled up my tank for the first time. Got 399 miles, which I'm sure will improve substantially as I learn the nuances of driving the Prius. A friend is supposed to give me lessons next week -- she said that after they employed certain techniques, they saw an immediate improvement in mileage.

I had PM'd you, but I'll say it here as well -- I'm in!! I'll try to think about where (although I did like the Zoo parking lot -- plenty of space and no one to bother us!).

That's half a block from my house. It's almost silly for me to drive. If it's there, I'll be there. I'll even put notes of invite on the many other Prii on the block. Although hanging out in a basement parking garage sounds unpleasant. Is this a meeting point for a drive or a hang out time? I don't understand why we need shade. I'd much rather have fresh air than exhaust fumes.

That's just my thoughts. I'll go wherever. Organizing this must be like herding cats.

Yes I agree, and we can certainly drive to another location, any suggestions? Club members requested shade based on the last gathering that was very very warm and we ended up sweating our Prii off.

A ride would be nice, IMO we could meet, chat then go somewhere, any ideas?

Not sure if we will have a problem parking here, I will try to get more info. Worse to worse we can meet there and drive to another location. Ideas anyone?

The grove sounds great. I'll be there.

I don't know if it is 1 hour free parking or 2. Validation is available withOUT purchase at Barnes and Noble, just ask at the register by the doors. I think 3-4 hours is $2 with validation.

    I'm looking forward to meeting!
