i purchased my Prius and payed for the visor up front, and it took a month and a half before the parts arrived, when it first got installed , after 2 weeks it started to peel, Not on the car side but on the visor side, i have it returned to the dealer and they reinstall a new set, after a night in my garrage it fell off.I jst came from the dealer yesterday where they installed a 4th set and now its starting to fall again. Now i have the front visor only (they didnt get it from me).

My option is that they will refund my money, and wait for toyota to fix or tweak their visor. or Just not have the visor.

Any body have same experience, if so what did you do?
Good thing i have them install it for me , is there a better visor available ?

Apparently you're not alone. There's another thread where users were having the same problem.

Do you know if they're a genuine Toyota part, or aftermarket ones that the dealer got?

Have you installed the Weathertech visors? I've been reading threads and they seem split pro/con, so I am on the fence. What is your experience?

I too would be interested to hear more about them, for I like to open the window a bit while driving. Wondering how good Weather Tech product is, or is there something better.

    I hate them.
If you want quiet airflow wind the back window down a little or put the fan on low.
Had deflectors on my Camry when I got it and took them off.
Work keep ordering my work cars with deflectors, I keep pealing them off. They wont listen. I don't want them.

To remove them park the car in the sun and put a little bit of WD40 (or any dewatering fluid that is safe for paint) on the adhesive strip to help soften the glue. Use a hair dryer to add heat if needed but be careful not to overheat the paint. Slowly pull the deflector off from one end, adding WD40 as you go.
WD40 wont hurt the paint but make sure the car is clean and waxed and wipe of any excess WD40 as you go. Rags to catch any runoff will help.
Clean off any glue residue with WD40 then wash and wax the area.

Get your money back on the wind defectors and enjoy.

I have the Weathertech deflectors... I really like them.
I think that they do cut the noise factor when I open the back window(s) for venting, and they reduce the "thumping" noise if I open one of the front windows (at least, until I get up to 55, then I close it anyway).

Also, I can leave my front windows open slightly in parking lots without it looking like they are open, and without rain getting into the car.

I've had them over a month (I'd have to check the timestamp on my photos...), and they've not given me a bit of trouble.

I have the tape-on kind, not Weathertech. Have not had any problem at all with peeling. I like the fact that when I roll down the rear windows while driving I hardly hear any noise at all (in fact, I nearly drove into the car wash today with the rear windows partly rolled down because of how quiet things are back there.)

Of course, these visors are very helpful (along with sunshades) if you live in a warm climate like TX.

I have stick on rain visors never had a problem with it coming /falling off. I even removed one because I placed it in wrong spot, I had to buy new adhesive 3m tape

    http://www.acehardwareoutlet.com/(nynugk45...;Source=froogle

I used this 3m brand tape : Scotch exterior mounting tape # 4011 has red plastic peel away, it is not the detail 3m tape that is normally used . This hold 5 pounds and again I never had a problem I drive 70 plus on the highway at times 80 and then 65 and go through a touchfree laser car wash with a lot of pressure and no problems.

So just get the tape yourself some rubbing alcohol to clean the visor and the door where the visor is to mount. and you will be all set to diy.
( the other thing ,, you will need to cut the new tape in half because it is wider than a 1/4" not hard just place on a board and use a razor blade) but be carefull :)

I got the parts from dealer and it should be genuine not OEM (toyota Canada Parts,) ITs beginning to peel now. And after inspection i saw that they melted some window plastic where you put the small brace. with this last instalation they did not mount that small brace , since they say it cause the whole thig to peel off. But it look bad since the front visor is sticking out compared to the rear visor.
They say they will refund me , and the problem with the visor need to be solved by toyota.

I am not that willing to mount it by myself since i paid it with the car purchase and anything happen to it , they will be liable to replace it.And now they need to replace my melted plastic window trim. Ill take picture tomorrow.

Thanks for the replies. Now im more to refunding it and just use the money to install an EBH

I have the Weathertech window deflectors and I love them. I've had them for over a year.

Installing the rear ones was difficult - search for other threads to get advice on how to do it. The first couple of months I had to shove the front ones back up into the channel 2 or 3 times, but haven't had that problem since.
