IMO $70 is high. I just paid my indy mechanic $15 for an oil change. I was his 2nd Prius. I took John's oil change directions and left it at the shop. I believe it was Tom (but maybe not) who said tires should be rotated if there is uneven wear. Anyway, a tire rotation shouldn't be more than $20 anywhere, including the dealer.

From the oil threads I have gathered that if you are changing the oil every 5000 miles then synthetics don't offer a significant improvement to justify the extra cost.

Will your Goodyear store want to rotate your tires & change your oil? They may make you wait for the qualified hybrid tech. :D

Ha! :D I saw your other thread about the Firestone... I know that was a pain, but I'm so paranoid about our new baby, I'd rather see the "qualified" guy doing it!

<_< I wish 5,000 mile scheduled service only ran $70. It's more in Santa Monica California. Also, watch out for the 15,000 mile service... some dealers try to push a $200 service that is not needed until 60K.

Best of luck to you. - Nda3rdcar
