This may be technically, or pracitcally impossible; but, I just signed up for Verizon VZ Navigator service, which is a fairly good GPS that runs on my Verizon phone. The phone is linked to my Prius. Is there any way to run, or at least display, the GPS results on the Prius screen.

Nothing seems obvious, but I am just an egg.

excellent question, the answer to which I do not know. I do not have the factory nav in my prius, but I wonder (1) does the Verizon nav give voice turn by turn direction? and if so, (2) if I'm connected via bluetooth, if not the video, would the Prius broadcast the turn by turn directions? <_<

We do not have the nav system either; but, the Verizon does announce turn by turn, and we will attempt to have the system broadcast the voice.

You're not going to get anything on the screen, 100% sure of that.

I'm not sure on the audio.

I love VZ Navigator! I download it only when I am on vacation, use it for that month only, then delete it until I need it again. It's totally worth the 10 bucks to find my way around a strange place. Gotta watch that battery, though; it can drain your phone.

I don't know of any way to display it on the MFD, and because it's not quite a 'call', I do not know about the voice coming thru BT, either. I sure hope it does.

I tried it today and received no voice while the phone was connected to the BT. I turned the BT of the phone off and then got nav with voice. VZ nav is a really nice navigation system. 2.99 a day or 10.00 for the month. I would love to have it on the MFD though.

I have not been able to use my VZ Navigator from my cell phone in my new 2008 Prius. It won't run at all when it's on bluetooth and when I disconnect the bluetooth it runs very slowly and won't talk. Does anyone have a solution?

I am planning on a 2.5 week vacation this August and plan to use the VZ Navigator during that time. Sounds like an excellent plan. I'll be visiting friends that live in some pretty remote locations. Does the GPS directions work out of tower range?

Thanks for the affirmation on it's value. And thanks for the tip on the battery. I'll keep the 12V charger handy. Sounds like a good alternative to spending several hundred dollars on a GPS that would only get used once or twice a year. I don't need GPS around home. I know were everything is! ;)

I have a similar problem. My vznavigator worked with a motorola hands free bluetooth system, but not with the bluetooth in my 2008 prius. The phone functions work fine, but not the navigator voice prompts. Unfortunately, when the phone is paired, the audio from the phone itself is disabled. further, if I use the headphone jack through the audio accessory input from the prius, the voice prompts work, but the bluetooth is disconnected, so I cannot use the phone!

Anyone out there find a solution to this problem?

I finally figured out how to add addresses and look up businesses on the web and synchronize them to my Navigator's "Favorites". If anyone is interested here is the link: my.telenav.com
