    See full article here.

The article starts off about Ford buying a car plant in Eastern Europe and then takes a right turn right into a surprising claim about Toyota's pending announcement...

I wonder if it will be a new concept car or the next generation, plug-in Prius?

I didn't even read the article but as fuel is so expensive in Europe and cheap here in NA it would benefit them more than the NA market. Good proving ground over there compared to the litigatious American market if the slightest thing were to crop up. Just my 2 cents

I think they will just be using these:

    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ktG-0IioHWo

They are normal Priuses with 2 standard NiMH battery packs instead of one and about 8 miles EV range. They are being used to test the PHEV principle before switching to lithium-ion (ie they have indicated that the final product will not be NiMH based).

It was announced earlier that they will be appearing for testing in California soon too.

Oh, not for sale but just for testing???? Bummer, but you are probably correct. The article isn't very clear about that distinction.

Hey, it's my video! Check it out: YouTube user name boulderbum7.

Still not as popular as my mini golf video, though (which is the first hit on a Google video search for "mini golf").
