Glad to hear it! Are you arranging it through the Chicago group? Do you have any dates in mind for either Chicago or Milwaukee?

Moreover: What kind of help do you need to set this up? I have trouble installing spark plugs, so I don't think I can provide much in the way of mechanical assistance!

Cool, Wayne! I may have a little flexibility. Where in VA is the group install? Depending on where it is, I may be able to come there. Or, I could plan a vacation when you will be passing thru, and choose a vacation spot that is not so far out of your way. It can't hurt for me to check into those possibilities, anyway.

But... my EBH hasn't arrived yet. I'm getting a little worried.

Hi Wayne. My status is flexible just like You me and da Pri's. I could come up to VA or meet you in Charlotte or wherever you and You me and Da Pri decide to meet, whatever works best for you. I'm looking into cabin rentals in the Boone, Blowing Rock area for that week, so that might be a possibility if you want to cruise down the Blue Ridge Parkway. Should be very pretty that time of year.

I did not get in the group buy in time, but I can pick one up from Danny or elsewhere prior to that week.

Wonderful! Will you have time to do your battery talk too?

For those that plan to attend the 9/29 group install and meetup, please RSVP here so we can keep a running tally in one place. Thanks!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(You me and da Pri @ Aug 30 2007, 01:11 PM) </div>
It will be in the Richmond area.

I, too, can come to Charlotte or Boone, if that's what Wayne wants Either is only about an hour away. I thought that if Wayne posted his tentative route, I could try to adjust so he wouldn't have to go so far out of his way just for lil' ol' me.

On another note, these water restrictions are pissing me off. DuPree needs a bath, and the only way I'm allowed to give him one is go to a car wash. I don't trust them not to damage my car. There are only 2 people living in my house, and I never water my lawn... I should be allowed to wash one itty bitty car, dang it!

How close to New England are you going Wayne? I would be honored to have you install mine but if there aren't enough people to warrant a run to N.E. then I can try to bribe Hobbit into doing it for me. I could drive some to meet you if it's on a weekend or during the week of Sept 24-28th.

In the Richmond area somewhere. JimboK or Skwyre7 are setting it up. Ideal would be for you Carolina people to meet me in Richmond, but if not I can work around it.

Neicy, I should be getting up that way.

I hope to have a tenative route done this weekend when the brain gets off of west coast time.

Wayne,

I just ordered a Block Heater today. I live in Greenwood, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis. We have ordered a new 2008 Prius and it will arrive by the end of September. Would there be any possibility of an install for us? If not, we would be glad to meet you in Chicago later at your convenience. Please let me know.

Thanks.

Hi Wayne,

Looks like you had a great trip. We are ready for Columbus Day here in Cincinnati. Is there anything you want me to do for the installs and the plant tour. I will PM everyone from OH, KY and IN who has expressed interest before the install weekend. I have room and board available for you and whomever else needs it.

Hi Jud,

Saw your post for Columbus Day install. Are you talking about doing it the weekend of October 6?

Yes, the very same. I think I'd like to get the installs done Sunday the 7th since Bob Wilson has the tour set up for 10:00 AM Monday the 8th. But if you can't make it then the 6th or 8th can be arranged.

Wayne,

Thanks for responding to my post. If you want us there on Sunday, October 7, that would be great. Just let us know where. Hopefully, we will receive the Block Heater before then (ordered yesterday). By the way, will there be a Group Buy this time, and if so, would I be able to get the difference back from $59.00? Just curious. Thanks again for all the help you have been to so many people. If we can buy your lunch when we are there, would love to.

Hi Wayne,

It looks like Sunday the 7th of October is going to work for the most people in the Cincinnati area. Can we set this date in stone? If Yes I will contact all interested parties and set it up. Are you planning to stay with me. I have and extra room (actually 4 extra rooms) and you can stay here if you like. Are you going to go anywhere besides the Camry plant tour on this trip. Also, is there anything else that you will need for the install.

My block heater has arrived -- thanks Danny and Jesse for the group buy! Maybe there are enough of us in New England to get together. I live in Milford, NH, and am quite willing to drive to a group install in the Boston area, or even eastern NY if Wayne makes it that far. BTW, I tried to get it done at my dealer, and got quite a rant from the 'master tech' about how impossible it is to install "that thing, and besides, the engine already has a preheater".

Gee, Wayne does that "impossible install" in ~20 min.! And where is the "preheater"?

I got mine too this week. Thanks Danny & Jesse & anyone else involved.

I'm really getting tired of the first five minute hit on the mpg. (sigh)

Wayne, I know I had to cancel on your West Coast swing because of a dealer screwup, but technically New Orleans is both west AND east of the Mississippi seeing as it cuts right through the city, so...

now that I have a brand new Prius sitting in my driveway as of TODAY (WooHoo!!!) and an EBH I just received from Danny two days ago, could you schedule a New Orleans visit into the East Coast trip?

Wayne,
Mark and I are willing to host a Chicago install event at our houses. He'll provide the driveway, and I'll bring the burgers and brats!!! I'm thinking the weekend of Sept. 29-30th. Let me know if this works for people and which day is better.. sat or sun?

If you want the install, the time is getting close, so get your reservation in. The tenative schedule now looks like this;

Sept. 29th Richmond, VA for all the VA, NC, MD people who can make it.

Sept. 30th DE, Eastern PA, Long Island, NY

Oct. 1st MA, RI, NH, VT

Oct. 2nd Eastern NY

Oct. 3rd MI, possibily Northern IN

Oct. 6th Indianapolis, IN area for those who can't make the 7th.

Oct. 7th Cincinnati, KY for all the IN, KY, OH people that can make it.

Oct. 8th Georgetown, KY Camry plant tour, left over installs in the area or back up to Chicago.

The idea here is to try to gather a group of people when possible to maximize installs vs. time.

Right now it looks like I won't make FL or LA, but if you can hold out till the first of the year I think I can make it over the kids winter break.

I will be PM'ing people soon so keep a look out.

Again, as in the west, if this happens to fall during the week, I can come to your Prius parking place and do it there, only takes 20-30 minutes on average. The biggest factor is I need the car fairly cool, no running for at least an hour before I work on it. At the group installs, if we have an outlet handy, we can fan cool the hotter cars since some people have a distance to drive.

And unlike out west, I will not be delivering block heaters, you must have them in your hands when I show up.

I think there are a few of us in/near Indy that if you would be willing to make a stop on the 6th in Indy you could take care of three of us I think. I would be more than willing to host.
