Well this isn't MPG but it seems to fit best here. Today I worked on an 03 Prius that had a little over 271,000 miles on it. I thought it might be a typo but there it was.....

Who has the most miles on their Prius???

BTW this was a privately owned car, not a corporate or business so far as I know.

When we had the 5k service done , there was a classic 01 prius with 250k miles the service writters were amazed.

I thought why so surprised , it's a toyota but who knows , maybe they have not seen an 01 before too.

I have 45k on my 06... It's not a lot of miles but it's a lot of miles for the year and a half I've owned it.

I'm only at 65k on my '04. But there are Prii over 250k, many over 100k. A lot of 1Gs over 150k...but someone recently pointed out that a lot of those 1Gs with over 150k have required replacement of the HV battery. No similar trends with the 2G who have better batteries, better programming and are expected to last 250k miles+.

Hobbit worked on a G1 not too long ago that has ~ 315k miles, if I remember correctly. It is owned by a fellow named Jesse who apparently drives up and down N. America when a free day presents itself.

The other monster mileage story is from a Vancouver cabbie -- sorry, his name is escaping me at the moment. I find his story inspirational. I think close to 30% of cabs in Vancouver are Prius these days, and I have little doubt it is thanks to this fellow's ambassodorship.
