    All,
Priuschat.com is a great find! Just picked up my 2007 Black PKG #6. Seems like Black, on the East Coast, is tough to find. The drive home was fantastic and I'm looking forward to getting started on all the reading on this forum. Quick questions for you veterans out there . . .

    1) what's the feeling on extended warranty? Seems like a good idea but haven't done that before with other new cars.
    2) any must-have iPod accessories out there
    3) what's the deal with XM Radio? No free trial?

    Thanks!

    Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!

    1. I don't think you need to extended warrantee, but you can buy it here at PriusChat for like $950, so I think that makes it kind of a Crap Shoot, You could come out ahead either way, buying or not buying it, only time will tell.

    2. Someone posted that Toyota is coming out with there own IPod integration device, so search around hear. Everyone also talks about something called DICE. I am not an IPod person.

    3. No free trial of XM. I tried it before, and with music I liked, it repeated every four hours or so and started to bug me.

Now for the real education. You would have no way of knowing, but it is traditional here on PC that when you anounce the purchase of a new Prius, you provide the particulars such as color, package, so on, so cough it up. Edit = OK, I see in your signature it is a package 6m but what color??? By giving out this valuable data, you are guarenteed that everyone will post telling you why their color is the best. For instance, Silver Pine Mica is the best color, and hopefully, that is the color you got.

Oh, and get a BT Tech stiffening plate. THey are worrth it, despite those who are nay sayers.

I too am a new Prius owner and I bought the extended warranty because of what I was told by the man who was selling the warranty. After going home and reading the factory warranty and the extended warranty I decided to cancel the extended warranty. I was told that the battery pack would cost me thousands of dollars if it went out , but after reading the factory warranty and finding it was covered for 8 years or 100,000 miles and the drive train was covered for 5 years , I didn't see the need for the extended warranty. The one I had bought was for 7 years or 75,000 miles , but after I read it I saw that it started from the day I bought it. It didn't start after the factory warranty ran out , so what good would it do me?

    Gratz! You lvl'ed up ! :D

I took extended warranty - because I always have. 4yr/100km

In this case I rented 4 years - and it's easier with Toyota & the Dealer if you have an Extended Warranty And Something Should Go Wrong.

i got the warranty the extended one because my husband being a mechanic was worried about the screen and electronics going bad. plus i get a rental car included with my platinum warranty and its like car insurance. you hope you never need it but its nice to have it JIC.

welcome to pc dave! yes as stated above Silver Pine Mica is the Best color ever put on the prius. As far as ipod integration goes, i have the USA Spec and i like it because i can go through my ipod with my steering wheel controls

I also got sirius in my car but aftermarket its rad i love it! you cant even see the antenna its so tiny.

I just picked up my Magnetic gray touring package #6 this afternoon. I had XM installed at the port and today I had it activated at the dealership. I received free activation and a 3 month XM trial basis. Love the vehicle already!!!

When my Prius was delivered it came with instructions for the salesperson to activate the free trial. I suggest returning to the dealership to ask them to activate it.

Congratulations on a wonderful new car.

Toyota website shows XM as an accessory for the '08. I ordered it as an accessory for my '07 and it was installed before the car was delivered.

    Congrats on the new wheels.
Toyota badge is all the warranty I need. I've never had a problem with a Toyota that cost me as much as an extended warranty would have and I keep most of my Toyotas till they are 15 years old or more.
