Good on ya! I haven't seen this order tracking section used in a while, but I'm glad you found it and chose to.

Thanks! Since my test drive of a 2006 used one they had in the lot, I've fallen in love, and want nothing more to trade in my Impala. So, I'll do the next best thing and read as much as I can, watch as many videos as I can, and otherwise occupy my time as much as possible while I wait. And this is only 3 days after I ordered. ;-)

I am doing the same thing! I look for pictures and I'm trying to find a comparison of the 2007 and 2008. I know nothing substatial changed, but I want to know what "insubstantial" changes were made.

My dad is my dealer, so I'm not entirely sure what he ordered for me. I know I told him I wanted a white 2008, and I'm guessing it will be fully loaded. He can't tell me when it will arrive, so I'm going to be on the edge of my seat for a while. Also, I live in Ohio and he is in NY, so I'm going to have to drop everything and drive 12 hours in my RAV4 to get it when it arrives. On the plus side, I'll get to drive 12 hours back in my brand new Prius!

wow... an 08 Canadian model. What's more surprising is your 3-4 month wait time.

Anyhoo, welcome to PriusChat. Don't forget to check out the recently revitalized Knowledge Base for useful articles!

Thanks! I've been trolling the forums for a couple of days now, and have been reading as much as I can possibly absorb. I'd say that this site is one of the better sites for info I've seen, and everyone seems really friendly. A good combination, if ever there was one.

Yeah, I was surprised to hear about the wait list. I had expected some delay (like, a month or two), but that many? Ah well, I'm patient, and in reality, the wait puts me in a better position life-wise for the change. So for now it's just a waiting game.

Why is the 08 Canadian model such a surprise?

mmhmm... we do have a fairly eccentric mix here. As the forum expanded (and more and more people bought the Prius), we have people from all over the world in this forum sharing their experiences and we've learned quite a bit.

Yeah, cause when I bought mine (and there was a waiting list back then), I waited 1½ months for it and it was factory built.

Oh, cause I haven't seen any 08s on the lot. I've only seen 08 TCHs (Camry Hybrids) of which they're all sold.

My dealer was telling me that the new '08's started arriving a few weeks ago and were all spoken for prior to their arrival. He was also telling me that they were reaching their monthly allotment typically within the first few days of the month. It seems kind of ridiculous, if you ask me. Oh well, supply and demand and all that.

So that's where the shipment is going <_< :p haha j/k. Well, with the price reduction and tax credit, sales for the Prius never really did slump... there may have been a few months of dips in sales but not the usual slump after the model has been out for a couple of years.

Updated to indicate that I've got a delivery date now. December 15, 2007. So came in at 3 months, instead of 6 months like I was expecting.

    100% awesome. :)

I placed an order with a dealer in Cincinnati through Costco auto purchase program.
I gave the dealer few options

    Touring edition only

Color Seaside pearl or Pine mica green
Option package either 3 or 5
Interior color either grey or the other

Paid a non refundable deposit of 500 d0llarsThe choice of colors is based upon the postings on this website. Here in rural KY I only saw few very few Pries only in red and silver.
When I placed order through Costco the dealer said it may 6 months as the above 2 colors are not available with touring package.

Today he saidâ€It may take 3 months, before December 15thâ€
I am not very sure what Costco’s price will be, but that is O.K. The nearest Costco is 220 miles away; I just became a member of Costco to avoid the negotiating with the dealer.
The lowest quite I had -1000 dollars above invoice

The Prius mystique is what my mother is calling it. I don't know when it will be available, how much it will cost, what color it will be, or what features it will have. Still, I'm willing to pay whatever they ask. Most people think I'm nuts. Mystique, indeed!

Lucky for me, then, that I have a (rough) date, and I know exactly at what price, what colour and what package I'm getting. That being said, I still can't wait. I'm squee-ing like a little girl every time I think about one. ;-)

Two weeks down, 13 or so to go. I'm not sure what to do with myself while I wait with baited breath. ;-)

Lord, grant me the patience to make it through the wait, and give it to me NOW! ;-)

Dealer just gave me a quick call today to say that everything was still a-okay. He told me that he'd have a VIN for me about 4 weeks prior to the delivery of my vehicle (so, November 15th ish). I'm still being rather patient.

In the meantime, I have found someone to take over the lease of my current vehicle (2006 Chevrolet Impala), so that's at least a good thing.

I continue absorbing as much information as I possibly can, and am looking forward to ignoring it all and just driving the car and enjoying it when I first get it.
