I just got my Prius a few days ago, and am wondering about how long it takes to have the XM Radio thing put into the car. Also, I already have an XM subscription. Does the installation include any sort of subscription that I can avoid by already having one?

    thanks...

If you are getting the Toyota install, it will be done in an afternoon, and includes 3 months free service (you still need to contact XM to turn the radio 'on' of course).*

My 'antenna' was placed on the front right dash. Works fine, but there are plenty of threads on the board expressing concern over this placement. If you might be concerned, deal with it BEFORE the install!!

If you already have XM, then the 2nd radio on your account will be much cheaper due to their family plan.

*This was my experience, it may be different elsewhere.

My delaer installed XM in a couple of hours. It came with 3 free months - after that it's your dime. If you alreadyhave an XM subscription, communicate with them about the 3 months thing. My antenna is also on the dash - a little ugly, but not enough to stress me out (especially compared to the right-wing AM radio talkers I was listening to before XM). B)
