Thanks, guys, for the huge number of responses. I don't have a metallic lining in my purse; I do keep my mobile phone in there, but someone else responded that phone proximity does not give him problems; and you all indicate that my situation is definitely not normal. I will get it checked out. :)

P.S. To answer Pinto Girl... the fob does not get recognized at all; multiple pulls on the handle don't work. Good point about latency though.

I don't have the manual at hand, but IIRC it specifically states that a cell phone can interfere with SKS.

The one thing that I do not like is no day time running lights...

Is this a gas mileage thing perhaps?

    I don't think it's a gas mileage thing, but I'm just guessing.

As for daytime running lights, we solved that problem. We never turn the lights off. When the car is turned off, the lights go off. When we start the car, the lights come on. It works for us.

For me my dislikes are small but here they are:

1.) Arm rests cloth covering. Bad move, just leave them as plastic.

2.) Wish you could lower blower speed without the MFD.

3.) When you backup the camera comes on but if you change the screen to lower your blower
on the MFD it never goes back to the camera. At least not that I know how to do.

4.) When I first connect my blue tooth phone the address book and dial doesn't become active for a while. It shows the phone as connected but all I can get to is speed dial. After a minute or so the phone book and dialer become active.

5.) Seat adjustment. Let the darn things go up and down some.

Think that is about it after a month.

Nothing at all I hate about my Prius - I doubt I'd have considered buying one if there had been anything I really didn't like about it.

There are a few things I wish it had that it doesn't - like MPG that could be calculated for each trip meter independently of the main consumption figure, a little more 'oddment' storage up front and less restrictive use of the MFD when the car is moving, but on the other hand, there is so much to like about it, that the niggly things are pretty meaningless.

I'd say the Prius has a lot of storage upfront.

    1. Armrest- big storage area
    2. UNDER armrest/cupholders- super secret storage
    3. Under stereo- small storage
    4. Above mirror- sunglasses storage
    5. TWO glove compartments
    6. Wide bins on each door

I suspect this has been mentioned earlier in this thread...

I wouldn't say I hate anything, but I am very disappointed with the quality, or lack of quality, of the paint. My Prius is just a year old and there are all sorts of little dings on it, especially on the front bumper. I have taken extraordinary pains to keep the surface protected with multiple layers of Zaino products, etc. -- way more effort than I've spent on previous cars -- but it doesn't seem to help. My last car, an Infiniti I30, which I bought at 50K miles and kept until 150K, never had any of these tiny little dings.

There's more than one thread in these forums dealing with this problem, so I won't go into it in any more detail.

I had a Solara that developed the same divot problem (and I spoke with many Solara owners who had the same experience); maybe it's a Toyota issue.

07 Prius w/ option 6. I live in Arizona and its Sunny almost everyday. My gripes are:

    1) The chrome bezel around the Start button catches the suns glare and blinds me while driving.

    2) I have to fork up $300+ to overide the Nav issue, and be able to drive in "electric mode" only.

    3) Poor rear visibility. My wife has reveresed into "objects" TWICE on the same SPOT. She does not trust the rear camera. On the second incident, she was using the backup camera to back up and at that moment she got an incoming call, and the screen switched from camers to phone page...and bump.

    4) Front windshiled is so HUGE. It's like sitting in front of an oven in the desert. I heard there is a company out there that is testing a "Clear" tint for the windshield that blocks 90% of the rays. But, most states ban the use..

    5) On a long drive the passenger in the back seat complained and asked me turn off the heated seats..I guess the battery heats up the rear seats. Something I would have never known.

Other than the above, we love the car...

Don't get me wrong... I'm tiny, I'm only 5'2", so I can only comment based on what I've been told... However, I don't understand why you have trouble fitting and feeling comfortable in a Prius. My boyfriend is 6'7" (and before someone asks, no, he's not a basketball player :D ) and he says my Prius is the most comfortable car he's ever been in. He even fits in the backseat with the front seat pushed all the way back. Just thought I'd ask how it can be different for someone who is half a foot shorter than him.

Nothing, but there are two things I would like to have. 1) Automatic headlights (since the dashboard is always lit, I found myself forgetting to turn on the headlights 3 times already and two of those three times, I was reminded about it by... cops, not fun). 2) I'd like cooled seats.

You could always get yourself a Canadian Prius. :) We get Auto Headlights as standard, but cannot get HIDs at all. <_<

I have thought about this too. Some tall people feel cramped in the car and some people feel like its roomy enough. Perhaps it depends on how you are tall. People tall in the legs might not like the driver seat too much because the leg room is cut off short on the left side (unlike a lot of cars), but people tall in the torso (how most guys are tall) might think it to be more comfortable than comparably sized cars because the Prius has a couple inches extra above the head (where I need it). I have found that generally the backseat of the Prius is generally roomier than comparably sized cars in both leg room and head space, and the passenger side has more leg room than the driver side.

Hate is such a strong word, but things I would change/fix include:

    1. If your bluetooth disconnects while you're driving, you can't reconnect it without stopping. Therefore, when my phone rings, or if I need to make a call, I have to answer it with the actual phone. This is much more dangerous than me pressing the bluetooth connect button while driving.

    2. While driving at night, the speedometer display reflects green onto the windshield. Very annoying.

    3. I wish you could adjust the vent fan on the steering wheel.

    I guess that's it...
