I've asked a couple of questions on these boards. Since I knew I was in pre sales mode and this was the best place to get clear answers. I bought my 2008 pkg 2, Seaside Pearl, Bisque Interior just a couple of hours ago. I got to see her and test drive her but the dealer is going to clean her up in the morning and I wanted to buy my own insurance online. So in the morning I'll clean the garage. It is a 2 car garage and the ancient toyota will stay as a backup. But I need to clear out some boxes and stuff. I'm so looking forward to this, it's hard to even say why. I needed a car but this is like driving a shuttlecraft.

    I'll post purchase details tomorrow.

Thanks to all who helped in the decision,

    Mark

Congrats and welcome to the future! I traded up from an old school truck, so I know the "space shuttle" vibe you are talking about. It gets better as you get the feel for driving it.

    Enjoy!

Congrats! You are going to love it.

I got my 2007 Driftwood Pearl pkg 4 two weeks ago, and just added my first tank of gas. I wanted to be careful so I filled it just after dropping down from four to three pips on the gas indicator. It only took a little over 7 gallons, and I got about 42 MPG, mostly city driving and running A/C set at 74. I expect improvement with new tire break-in, less A/C usage when the summer heat goes away, and, of course, when I venture more onto the hwy.

    Thanks everyone!

I'll post some first impressions after I pick it up and drive around for awhile. Oh and the deal I got was $250 off MSRP and the Toyoguard price discounted 100%. I may have been able to do a bit better but I'm pretty satisfied. Does that sound decent to you? Other dealers in the area wouldn't budge on price or kept trying to sell me cars with dealer added options I didn't want.

I know how you feel, anticipating taking delivery of your Prius. I got my '07 Seaside Pearl option 6 with grey leather about a month ago. Last night was the first tank of gas with 49mpg. I don't think that is such a bad start as the car breaks in and my daily commute is only 5 miles each way. Sure beats the 15mpg my Mercedes gets for the same drive! It certainly is like driving a space ship; I feel like George Jetson behing the wheel jetting off in a futuristic vehicle.

I just got her home and wow she's beautiful and fun to drive. Seeing that I averaged 55 - 60 mpg on the way home didn't hurt either. I think I'm intuitively getting the hang of pulse and glide and of course the energy monitor screen is helpful. Also somehow this car seems to drive much more smoothly than the 2007 I had for the original test drive. Better ride and not as noticeable when the ICE kicks in. Maybe because it's brand new. Odometer at 11 miles when I picked it up.

    It's raining or I'd post a pic.

    Hi everyone,

We bought one 2 weeks ago. An 07, A black beauty pacakage 5. The wife loves it. She cant wait to put gas in it. Had sirius put in also. What a car. we traded an 07 explorer in. Why did we wait so long. I have never been happier with a vehicle.

    HI Mark,
Congratulation, on 2008 pkg 2, Seaside Pearl, Bisque Interior!
Post a photo, rain can be a photographer’s friend, intensifying colors and adding drama to photo of your new Prius. You can also replace with another photo.
