Thanks for the info. Guess I'll try it.

As to "flummox," I can't help but wonder if it is more of an English (as opposed to American) usage...? I lived in Canada from the ages of 8 to 19, and did my junior year of university in London, then went back to London for six months not long after graduation, so I sometimes don't know whether I'm speaking English or American. And then, my son had an English nanny when he was very young, so he, too, is "bilingual," and we're not too sure where we got various bits of slang...

I'd have to guess it's a subject more interesting to US than to others, however.

Crosswinds are never purely constant in their intensity.... especially if there is something nearby causing turbulence such as the guard rail of the bridge etc.... but I used to cross the 205 bridge regularly... its 2 miles across from Washington State to Portland Oregon and sometimes very nasty East winds that rip out of the Gorge... strong enough to risk toppling 18 wheelers if they are not careful, but mostly just annoying as it tries to make you change lanes without warning.

The Bt Plate offers more stability with any situation that causes varying stress such as side winds.... whether its the gust of an 18 wheeler or mother nature, its still wind and it does help.

I wanted to let everyone know that recently placed their order for a BT Tech stiffening plate that all orders have been processed and most have been already shipped. The remaining orders that we have will be shipped tomorrow.

For those that submitted their email address at the time of order will receive their UPS Tracking information shortly.

For those of you that have not ordered your BT Tech plate yet, we still have stock and ship the same day that your order is received.

    Hey Pat,

How's your experience with the BT plate, so far?

Not to divert the discussion, but Presto, did you ever get your floor stiffening plate installed? If so, any feedback? (Exhaust clearance, handling improvement, or????)

I just finished my first relatively long trip in my new Prius, 150 miles each way. And there were some cross-winds and such. I noticed a tendency to have correct back and forth slightly throughout most of the trip (at 70 mph w/cruise control engaged). I assumed this was due to road conditions. But I'm now wondering if this is the type of thing that the stiffening plate helps minimize?

The BT plate can reduce the impact of cross-winds. The part that is specific to your particular situation is whether the reduction is sufficient. There are a number of steps (things like wider tires, suspension stiffening, etc.) that can be taken to reduce the impact of cross-winds. Of all of the steps to become more resistant to cross-winds, the BT plate is the least costly. You could start with the BT plate and see how much resistance to cross-winds that gets you.

On a separate matter, Brian, any update on the "new products"? Christmas is approaching and I need to make my list for Santa.

Sorry for the slow response. I forgot about a response until the thread got bumped again! I still have not installed the floor brace! Let's call it laziness haha. I have to do any mechanical work at my parents' place since I live in a condo with a strata that has a long-handled broomstick up-...somewhere. It's about a 30 min drive there during off-peak, so that takes away a lot of motivation. I swear.... one day it will happen! (before spring, i'm hoping):D

I am hoping to have both of our new products ready in time for the holidays coming up. I know that this is longer than I originally anticipated but in the end, it will be worth the wait.

On a side note, we were contacted by the Prius Chat store about a relatively large number of orders that were missed. For those of you that placed your order for our BT Tech plate and have not yet received it, they will be shipping within the next 2 days.

If anyone has any question regarding their order, please feel free to PM or call me at the number listed below.

Brian, thank you for the update.

For those who are concerned, we are now on the downhill slope (from 900 posts) toward 1,000 posts.

I was SO CLOSE to ordering the plate when PC showed a $20 Labor Day discount, which did not show up in the shopping cart...No one responded about why this was, or how to go around it, so I didn't order. Seven hundred miles later, I'm STILL thinking about it, but the lack of timely response has me holding off. No, $20 isn't much, but unresponsiveness IS.

    Hello Rufaro,

I am not sure why the PC store did not respond to your inquiries. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to place an order.

I didn't ask the PC store. I tried to place an order, along with an order for a wheelskin (which I have now!), but there was no discount shown for the BT plate. I wanted to order them both at the same time.

At the moment, I am on hold for ANY new mods--a valet parking place in LA whacked my front right passenger bumper and I'm not doing anything new until their insurance company fixes my baby. I am VERY grumpy right now...

Sorry to hear about your front bumper and hopefully, the valet company will make good on fixing it correctly.

Whenever you are ready for your BT Tech plate, feel free to contact me directly.

There could be some communication or efficiency improvement between BT Tech and the PC store.
Here is what happened with my order. Not complaining, but a bit frustrating to me as a customer (and I have
    bought many stuff from eBay).
    - 09/07 - order placed thru PC shop
    - 09/10 - received an email from PC shop saying that PayPal payment has been received and order info has been sent to supplier.
    - 09/11 - 09/19 - NOTHING
    - 09/19 - sent an inquery to PC shop asking "what happened?"
    - 09/24 - received an email from PC shop saying that "an inquery has been sent to supplier for response"
    - 09/25 - received a UPS tracking number from BT Tech.

You can see that the period of time between 09/11-09/19 (9 days) is quite frustrating.

    OK, venting is over.
I can't wait to get my plate and try it out. :D

    Hello Ceric,

There were a large number of orders that did not come through to us that have been corrected. Under normal circumstances, we process orders from the PC store on a daily basis without any issues. Please understand that we are not involved in the initial order taking through the PC store or PayPal payment processing.

I appologize about the delay in processing your order but look forward to your impressions of our BT Tech plate once you have it installed on your Prius.

Interesting concept Dave. 70% you say? I'd love see your math on that.
