    Hello group..
FINALLY! Our new Prius came in! What a change from a TDI Jetta..I found the car to be very easy to drive and so quiet..Sure gets away from you..Found myself doing 80 and not even knowing it. She's Barcelona red with tan leather (package 6)..Very cool but WOW is it red!
Been trying to tweak it a bit, have figured out how to shut off the back up beep and make the smart key unlock all the doors..Was hoping someone might be able to clue me in on the voice dialing for the bluetooth phone..

I was able to link my Sprint Razr V3 to the car, and uploaded all my contacts at once..Only thing, in my phone if someone has more than one number, they have multiple numbers under one entry. No problem, I just used the right arrow to highlight each number and highlight it and they all uploaded. Problem was when I tried to assign voice tags. Each person would show up with two numbers..Great..I thought I could assign a tag to each number "jonjon home" or "jonjon mobile" just as it works in the phone. But it doesn't work. It puts the same tag on both numbers. So then I thought okay, just put the name and maybe the system will ask which number..Nope..It dials the first one..Any idea how to make it work where I can have multiple numbers on one name?

Oh and is there a way to have the display show the xm info while on map? I have only figured out how if you have it on the audio screen.

Oh one thing that pissed me off..They stuck the XM antenna on the dash! Looks very home done..I thought it was supposed to go up on the roof..

Other than that so far the car is great..I do miss some of the bells and whistles the Jetta had but can surely live without the hassles of VW and high maintainance costs. First thing we want to do is get the windows tinted and maybe get a clear bra put on. I did find out the "Economic savings" is a huge ripoff..They just add the price of the discount to the package. The package 6 which is like 4150.00 on the website was over 5K on the window sticker..Big deal..But what can you do..Not a bit unhappy.. Can't wait to learn how to hypermile better..Not having much luck with the gliding..Seems I can't find the sweet spot between charging and electric motor mode..I guess it takes practice..Plus I only have 35 miles on it so far :D

    Oh..
It is a Touring, package six with XM
Paid 28559.00 and they threw in the mats as I refused to pay for them because I specifically ordered it without. Down here in tree hugger central they are not very interested in negotiating as people are lined up to buy them..Basically sticker price and the ECO nomic savings is a rip off..They just jack up the price of package six to over 5K making the price a wash. Even with the 1750.00 savings on the sticker it was to the penny what the price was on the "build your own" site with the package six being 4175.00..Was pissed about that but not much I could do..Just happy to get it..

She's a beaut, John. Congrats. I was also a little "weirded out" by the XM antenna on the dash, but I was assured that 1) this was the Toyota approved site for mounting the antenna, and 2) the dealer has not had any problems whatsoever in reception. After four weeks in my new baby, I can honestly agree with them that I have the same reception I had with my own trunk mounting of the antenna on my previous car, a Camry. No problems at all. Enjoy.

    Thanks!
Well as long as it works, and so far it does it should be okay. At least I don't have some cable running outside the car over a gasket somewhere..Can't wait to get off from work today to get to drive some more!!

Same to you! Don't know about you but this is my first Prius..I too am mulling over every speck of info I can find and think I need to take off a day to learn how to work things, and I am totally a tech nut..I would hate to be technologically impared and try to learn this car..My mom would probably park it

I have to say I was quite shocked over the color. When we test drove the car the only one they had on the lot was a silver pine mica standard model..We ordered this one based on the color in the book and for some reason I figured it would be more "burgundy" and when we picked it up and the salesman walked us out to the red carpet area I about fell down! I instantly loved it but I think I will have to bypass fire stations as the car will want to go and visit the firefighters and trucks :p
I also think the tan leather is a very nice color..

Don't get frustrated. Keep on trying. At the beginning I thought it was too much hassle and I could never do it, but after some practice now it's a breeze. So just keep on trying!

    Thanks!
I am right at 6.2 I think..My mom said the same thing when I sent her the picture. She said "sure is cute but smaller than the cars you usually buy" but I told her it's bigger than the 2005.5 Jetta we had before and a lot bigger than our Miata!

I am quite amazed at the rear seat leg room..Even I can fit back there with the seat all the way back..

haha. I figured it's more polite to comment on how tall you are than how small the Prius looks.

Yep, plenty of legroom. You can cross your legs and read a magazine if you feel like it.

Wow! That is an awesome color! Between that and the ease of cruising faster than desired you should be making your local police department very happy

I love it! All of a sudden my driftwood pearl is feeling inadequate

Congratulations on your new car!! The color is RED! I thought the Barcelona Red of last year had more of a red/orange look, so I was surprised by the red too. It will always look beautiful though.
