My CD player seems to be skipping lately. It's not the discs as I have checked them for scratches. It's doing the skipping on new CDs as well. I can hear the CD player skipping, although the audio doesn't always skip. I know that traditional CD player cleaners aren't meant for slot-load CD drives, so how does one go cleaning a slot load cd player?

Does it skip or have problems on an MP3 disc?

I have the 04 Prius, and therefore the CD player that doesn't recognize MP3s *sob*

It sometimes skips on new cds (not newly burned cds, but newly purchased retail music CDs).

but I'm not about opening up the unit as I'm lazy/unskilled. At least until my cd player really starts causing me issues.

I have an electric Duster unit that has some smaller nozzles (a hair dryer should work too) and I am going to see about blowing the dust out of the slot.
