Don't know for sure, but here are my best guesses:

    0-60 ---- Prius
    Quarter mile ---- Prius
Economy ---- Don't know (This is basically pushing the ICE / HSD full time, probably getting about 12 - 18 MPG for the Prius)

One thing that was not included in this challenge is emissions. Prius would win that category easily.

0-60 ---- Prius. Empty the Aero weighs 1585 kg and Prius 1275 kg and then the Aero is almost 4 secs faster, but with four passengers and luggage this will be over 2000 kgs and the drag of the roofrack doesn't help either. But with 250 hp and a torque of 350 nM @1900 rpm it will be a close call...

Quarter mile ---- No idea... I think the Aero will win this, but I guess there's only one way to find out

Economy ---- Don't know either, but I guess the Prius is at least more efficient thanks to its CVT, so it will probably be a bit more economical

At least the Aero could race you in the HOV lanes with four people inside. It would be fun to watch all the luggage fall off so therefore everybody wins :D BTW what's with all the other BB's attitude against hybrid's anyway? Could there just be a hint of jealousy?

I missed this thread when it started, but now, seeing it, I have to wonder....who the 'F' cares??!!

Best gas mileage in a 0-60 race...is that something that is, in any way, at all important?

Should one wonder if a car with 2.5 times more HP could win such a race? And what practial implication is there?

We're comparing apples and rocks...it isn't even apples and oranges.

so what is the Saab's total fuel used to go 200,000Km and what is the Prius total. Life isn't a race it's about being practical. Maybe your bank account doesn't care, mine does.

Evan that was the "reason" I started this thread in the first place. I had been a member of a SAAB BB before I traded in my 9-3 for the Prius. I left a "farewell" message there and it started up a thread about the Prius. I was kind of suprised at the comparasion myself and stated so over there. The SAAB I traded in was the older version, the hatchback. The basic size and body style were the same, and that's about it.
