The Olympic peninsula in November? Hot springs. If you want to do a hike, there was a nice 5 or 6 mile walk into a hot spring I remember doing in Scouts. Nothing like a warm soak after a soggy hike. While I think its worth tromping around the rainforest a bit, if you're looking to do just driving tour Sol Duc may be worth a stop. Not sure - last time I was there I was in diapers and not allowed in the water :lol: Google up hot springs Olympic peninsula and see what pops. And my memories of the park are all inland, although it probably does also include that strip of Pacific ocean front.

 

I have only two words of advice for you, burritos: July & August.

 

might be longest uninterupted road along the coastline... only about 370 miles....one quick lap around. starts in Olympia, ends in Olympia.... i would have picked may or june though. but a great ride anytime. just a lot less fog in june is all.

Anyway, don't listen to the nay-sayers. The pennisula in Fall is beautiful.
There's so much to see! My only advice is take your time.
Yes, see Sol Duc.. just the drive through there is gorgeous.
Also, stop at Hurricane Ridge... incredible drive up there, too, and a fairly easy hike if you like... or a tougher one if you like that... is available. Great views.

the Hoh Valley Rain Forest is a no-brainer. No matter the weather, it is worth the trip. I have been there in a 'normal year', during a severe drought, heavy fog, and during a storm which trapped us from leaving for about three hours with a tree that fell across the road about a mile from highway 101. The heavy rain time was my favorite. You are seeing the rain forest in . . . rain! (Bring a good rain suit . . . another no-brainer.)
Hoh, if you take the mile or so hike is good for about a 2 hour visit.

If your timing and the weather conditions warrant, I agree, try to make it up to Hurricane Ridge.

Don't listen to the weather naysayers . . . they have grown rusty from living in those conditions for too long. :lol: The Olympic Peninsula is beautiful in fall and winter too.

And honestly, if you had gone in July or August it would probably be raining then too...

Hoh River Valley gets my vote too. If you have a 3-4 days you can hike up to the terminus of Blue Glacier which is pretty cool! By all means, bring a good camera, wide angle lens, and tripod.
