there are many products that covers the seats, cargo, or both. I have 2-30lbs dogs and they love to put their front legs on the windows and make tons of nose prints on the windows and the cleaning is a pain especially the cloth on the sides....is there anyway or anything to keep them off that? I am trying to come up with a best solution where I can have them in the car, they can have enough space for a 30 to 45 minutes ride(I take them to the huntington dog beach regularly), and they won't be able to roam "freely" and mess up the cloth in it.....thank you for your advise

I was reading your post as I have the same concern as my dogs do the same thing and I want to protect the interior. Oddly enough as I got down to the bottom of the page there was an adverstisement link to what I think will solve the problem. http://www.hunterk9.com/site/870877/product/DDS22 I have ordered a set and feel this product addresses the issue.

Some people suggest me to just get a crate or foldable cage thats enough for the back of the car and confine them in it while they are in the car....any of you put a crate or cage in the car for your car is so whats the dimension...I noticed that when the seats are down they are not 100% flat and due to the hatchback the height is hard to tell either...thanks in advance....

skguh: haha..I just want my animals to be able to go to the beach more often and less cleaning everytime after we come home..'because i am always exhausted after "roaming" with them at the beach ..:p

gsatlanta: let me know how it works....I am mostly 100% sure that my 2 dogs will knock it off in a few seconds...

We, too, were concerned with the interior, so we bought the Exact Seat Covers and installed those. I also keep a blanket over the backseat. Mostly it's the pug that sheds, and to help keep some of that also off the floor carpet, we got the clear floormats. That's been handy to have in the trunk as well.

Thanks for the link for the door protector. If it works out, please post if you like it. The little pug likes to stand on the door arm rest... I wonder if she can do that with this.

We have two dogs, one is 35 lb and the other is 70 lb. When they travel with us they both have harnesses on and are seat belted in using a nylon strap that connects the harness to the seatbelt with two climbing carabineers. If they are in the hatch area we connect them to the tie down rings. When the cats travel they are in carriers that are strapped down and secured. This is both for their safety and ours. If you are in an accident those 30 lb dogs will become 30 lb projectiles traveling through the car at your speed prior to the collision.
