Lock/unlock audible signal

    We have two Prii and mine is the basic package - my wife has pkg 2 - when I use the lock/unlock on my car the lights flash but no audible indication. My wifes car beeps when locking or unlocking. Is there any way to activate the audible lock/unlock on my car? <_<

    if there is a beep then something is wrong, so if you want the beep do something wrong like trying to lock the car with a door open or not fully closed, or engine still on or else...

    Actually there doesn't seem to be anything wrong. There is an audible beep when locking or unlocking her car. If a door is open the car will not lock. She has the smart key option, mine does not.

    Does the beeping car have SKS? With SKS, I get a short beep when locking, two short beeps when unlocking and a long beep when the car refuses to lock for whatever problem may exist (such as not detecting the fob).

    if you leave the car when it's on, it beeps three times.

    Yes - the car that beeps has SKS. My car does not, and I was hoping there was a way to turn on the audible signal on a car that does not have SKS.

    Hi OP...
    The way it was explained to me, is the only way that you can have your Prius beep when you lock/unlock, is if it has the security package installed.

    Base model doesn't have the security package.
    Sucks to be us.

    My car has SKS and doesn't beep when everything is normal so I would agree with you, the security package should be the beeper..
