    Date ordered: 12 Oct 04
    Dealer: Miller Toyota, Manassas, VA
    Timeframe: 5-6 months
    Color: White
    Package: BC\
Number on dealer's waiting list: Salesman would not reveal this

I ordered a white 2005 Prius with the BC (#6) option package from Miller Toyota in Manassas, VA on 12 Oct 04. The salesman said it will take 5-6 months for him to deliver the car. He claimed that this dealer gets more Prius cars allocated than others in the area due to a high volume of Prius sales in the past, and therefore he should be able to get a car for me faster than other dealers. There was a refundable $250 deposit.

Doug - if you don't mind the drive, you could try Priority in Petersburg VA. We got one someone passed on. I never was on a waiting list, or gave a deposit. They're on the web.

Hello Doug. Congrats on the ordering of your prius. The wait is quite difficult, but it will be worth it.

In my desperation to locate a dealership with a reasonable wait time, I called around to every dealership within a 300 mile radius, and nearly every dealer in the NoVa area claimed to get more prius allocated to their dealership than all the others due to high volume.

I still don't know which one does get the most. I suspect it is Tysons Toyota, but who knows.

I was on the list at Koons Tysons, but ended up getting one from Danville Toyota. I would suggest giving them a call, their waiting list might be smaller. They were super nice and friendly to deal with, paid MSRP. Good luck!

    Update: Got the call!

    All,

I just got the call from the dealer today! They expect my car to arrive either the last week of December or the first week of January! So, the total wait will only be about 2.5 months. From all of the postings of untaken vehicles I see from salespeople on various websites, it seems like supply is finally catching up with demand, and the wait lists are disappearing.
