I am waiting for the guy on my350z.com to get back to me on the radar mount. However, there is another company that was brought to my attention that makes a similar mount. From what I am told, this one is aluminum, while the one I am using is plastic. I cannot vouch for this site as I have never ordered from them before, but they do have quite a few to choose from.

and then I found the attached pics. I want to get this, but I do not know if they will still make this mirror setup. From what I am told, it was a painstaking process, but I think it looks fantastic. I can see where it may get distracting though from the detector actually being in the mirror.

The last picture is a picture of the mount I am using. My apologies on the bad picture taking on that one!

Don't laugh, this is precisely what happened to us! Luckily they moved.

Thanks for the link. The aluminum mount is just what I've been looking for. Where did you find the rear view mirror integrated setup? The closest I could find was http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1856, but after I followed the BeastPower link, but I couldn't find any of the mirrors. I'm gonna shoot BeastPower an e-mail and hopefully they (still) make them.

One of the guys on my350z.com made the rearview mirror setup. I am checking to see if I can get him to make one for me and what the cost would be. I think it might be too costly.

So BeastPower got back to me. They actually just sell the product and the original fabricator is Ai Design. Unfortunately, Ai Design's website doesn't have anything but a half-image of a integrated rear view mirror!

Anyhow, it just occurred to me that while it does look cool, it's really of limited use. I'd probably stick the Valentine 1 under the mirror anyways (behind it would block the rear detector), so the interface is already right there. Thanks for introducing me to the mount and mirror!

ok, the person on my350z.com that made my mount and that still makes them is available. His email address is [email protected] and he can make them for the Prius once he gets the mirror stem diameter (I will get that to him once I return from vacation). He has been making these for years for the 350z and G35 and the quality is very good. I am attempting to get a better picture (the one below is from me taking a quick picture before posting).

Be careful as I'm not sure all Prius model years use the same diameter stem. I have a 2004 Prius w/ HomeLink and the stem is 3/4" (19 mm). However, CountryJoy lists a 2007 Prius w/ HomeLink as using a 23 mm diameter stem. http://www.countryjoycrafts.com/350Z/Mount.htm

aha, gotcha. I will measure the stem on our cars when I get home and give him both measurements.
