I don't get it.

    I don't get it.

    I have about 3,500 miles on my 2008 I have averaged the whole time from 46 to 47 MPG's

    The first few tank fill ups I got about 130 to 170 miles on the first pip, the last 3 tanks I have lost 3 pips at 120 miles. I seem to get about 375 to 450 mile per tank when before it was closer to 450 to 500 mile per tank. I'm still getting the sames MPG though. Any ideas, winter gas mix?

    You didn't mention how much fuel is going into the tank. Since the tank shrinks/expands due to temperature that is a major consideration. Types and blends of fuel matter as well but that will effect your MPG, the amount of fuel you pumped will not.

    If the MPG remains the same, then the difference is the bladder in the fuel tank or the pump you use to fill the tank. The capacity of the fuel tank in the U.S. version of the Prius can vary by several gallons depending on temperature, the pump used for filling, phase of the moon, and your astrological sign. Don't put too much thought into it, just be aware that it varies from fill to fill.

    According to Toyota, fuel bladder capacity varies by about 5 liters (or 1.3 gallons), NOT several gallons.

    Okay, you got me. The gross capacity of the fuel tank is 11.9 US gallons, and most of us figure the usable capacity to be somewhat less than 10 gallons, unless you like to gamble. That makes for about two gallons. Perhaps saying "a few gallons" would be better.
