Could someone help me out here? I want to install an aftermarket CD player in my 2003 Prius. What is the best way to hook it up?

Also, could someone help me with the with the wire harness? I need to know what each color of wire stands for. Any help you could give me would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Have you already done it? I have an actual OEM 2003 player and mounting hardware which I would sell you at a goodly discount. It only requires plugging in. I have a 2002 Prius, which it will probably work on, but my wife changed her mind after I started taking her dash apart :) Getting enough of the dash apart to install the CD player itself (in the little compartment behind the door) is easy enough. Getting enough to reach the place where it plugs in behind the radio is a PITA!

I'm in the same boat here with a 2003 Prius and a tape deck. I can't believe they were putting tapes into these cars in 2003... The radio also seems to only go up to 90Mhz and isn't really great reception either...

I also have no manual and am fumbling with everything to see what happens. Is there an English users manual out there anywhere??

    Thanks folks.,

    Quentin.

BTW, the CD player is already gone. Thank you to those who asked about it.

Only up to 90MHz? FM? There is something wrong. Mine does the full 88-108MHz broadcast FM range. Or you somewhere other than the US where the range is differnet?

    Hi Burns,

The Jap imports seem to use a different set of bandwidths, but I got that sorted since with a band expander that goes onto the arial. The reception is poor though, so I would still appreciate advice. There is a dashboard pocket below the radio that looks like it could come out and accommodate a replacement radio. Anyone tried that?
