New Honda Hybrid Adds High Tech Extras

    Honda (UK) have launched a high-spec, voice controlled Sat Nav-equipped version of its Civic Hybrid -- the first time a Hybrid has featured factory-fitted Sat Nav as standard equipment.

    The Civic Hybrid EX is a combination of a petrol engine with an electric motor and also features leather upholstery and Honda's Hands Free Telephone (HFT) equipment, which uses Bluetooth technology to allow mobile phone calls to be made safely on the move.

    It's the first time a Hybrid has featured factory-fitted Sat Nav as standard equipment, meeting a growing demand in the sector, particularly from corporate customers wanting high-spec, low emission cars.

    Nope.

    Sorry, some of the posted comments on that article are just ill informed..

    That article describes the IMA system as it is today at the exception of the SatNav. The gen 4 IMA still does not behave like the HSD in the Prius.

    Who cares about SatNav or behaving like the HSD. I'm wondering if they got rid of that ridiculous hump between the rear seats and the trunk. Like the small pass through *hole* in the camry, I consider it a fatal flaw.

    How could Toyota teach anyone, anything about the placement of the batteries & power unit if their Camry Hybrid exhibits the same (according to you) "fatal flaw" as the Civic Hybrid. In fact the trunk capacity in both cars is absolutely identical, despite differing in vehicular EPA size classifications :blink:


    I happen to think the Camry Hybrid is a sweet automobile and I am happy I am not alone as its sales figures appear to indicate.

    I think he means how come Honda couldn't put folding rear seats when they redesigned the Civic Hybrid.
