    How to change the default font size? The forum now looks like the Reader's Digest Large Print edition, which means more scrolling.

    Missing recent posts section from the old front page

    We used to have a recent threads item on the right side of the front page; is that gone for good or is it a setting issue that we can turn back on?

    I would like to add my vote for returning to the format that had the user information under the screen name and avatar, rather than way off to the right-hand side of the screen. Especially since the forum index pages require a very wide window. For that matter, I'd like to be able to keep a narrower browser window and still see the entire width of the page.

    I'd also like to add my vote to requests to have some sort of distinguishing feature to the sigs, so that it's easier for the eye to tell where the message text ends and the sig begins.

    And thanks, Danny, for all the work you've done and are continuing to do!

    One super-awesome feature: THe little [+] next to thread titles that lets me preview the thread's first post to see if I want to click into the thread. Yay!

    Big changes, so problems are to be expected. I'm confused about some things but will work with the new software for a while to see if I get used to things.

    My gripes:

    1. I always use to use "My Assistant" to view my most recent posts. It seems like it takes a lot of effort to track down my recent posts now. I don't want to auto-subscribe every thread I post in, and I don't want to use the "search" feature or browse through my profile to find my most recent posts.

    2. I had to reset my password as well, and when I got to the password change, I hit "OK" or whatever the button said, and then it prompted me, "Which username are you changing password for?" and gave me 2 options:
    * ichabod
    * Ichabod
    Which leads me to think that some people who are not getting their display names to show up properly, i.e. CamelCase names or other caps,
    are seeing another side of the same issue.

    I didn't really know what to do there, so I chose the capitalized one, and it seemed to keep my profile intact except for my custom display title, i.e. now it says "Senior Member." That should be easy enough to change, but the multiple choice for password reset was confusing!

    [edit]
    I found a feature that will probably be my replacement for the "View All New Posts" button, and that's Quick Links->Today's Posts. So anyone missing that feature will probably be happy enough with this.

    Also I'd like to second the request for dealing with over-sized avatars. Some people have huge images as avatars and it severely disrupts the display. I could also mention the "profile to the left instead of on top" thing, but that's been mentioned... maybe more a matter of preference, but it would be nice to have it as a layout option.

    My avatar stayed.

    One thing that did change was the icon I had assigned to a thread I started though... It's minor and I don't even care enough to manually change it back, but it had been [triangle exclamation point] but now it's [thumbs down].

    I have this same problem. I have had to log in several times already.

    Thanks for all the hard work Danny. It's impossible to please everyone, but thanks for trying!

    Hmm. a few links to older PC pages are gone =(. At least you had the "Recent software migration" notice" lol.

    Also, the PC store is missing a few pictuers (notably the PriusChat.com decal).

    Also, a few threads are missing their posts.

    This is one of them

    I think it's the one with the PC stickers on your Element?

    Still Can't Change Signature

    Every time I try to change my signature, including stylistic font changes and wholesale deletions of characters, I keep getting this silly message:

    1. Your signature can not be longer than 500 characters excluding BB Code markup.
    :confused::(:eek::rolleyes:

    But at least the Smilies work.

    I did a search on a thread, and then saw several posts which supposedly contained the information I searched on, but they were abbreviated and there was no way to jump to that post only. The link is only for the first post of the thread.

    I have tried to attach a picture and it won't connect to the post. I found it on my website and attached it, pressed the update button, then nothing. Could you tell me how to attach a picture? Thanks.

    To fix the "wierd characters" problem, find this line in /etc/php.ini:

    ; default_charset = "iso-8859-1"

    Take out the semicolon, restart Apache, and see if that fixes it. (If it DOESN'T fix it, put the semicolon back and restart Apache again.)

    Agreed!

    I too wish it would return. Every time I logged-on I did the 'view last 10 posts' to see if there were any replies or other posts to read or reply to. With this new system I feel kind of lost regarding where I had recently posted. Danny, please see if you can bring it back . . . especially considering the "View New Posts" on the blue bar will not show you your own very recent postings.

    Here's another complaint:

    The user name at the start of a post used to be more prominent. Since some people have similar-looking avatars, a quick glance can be deceptive. The old system, with the user name above the avatar, was easier to take in at a glance. The new system, with the user name as a link off to the side, and not terribly prominent, is much more difficult.

    This kind of goes along with the new method of stretching out the information across the top of the post, rather than the old, and better method, of having everything at the left.

    Hmm, "quick reply" seems to have disappeared between last night
    and now. Whassup? It's fairly handy, albeit a bit more real-estate
    hungry.

    1st, I set my profile to subscribe to all threads that I post in. Then I go to the "Quick Links" and simply view "Subscribed Threads". They will automatically be there. You are not limited to just the last 10. You will have a history of all your posts, and who recently replied to them. You do not need to start the thread, just reply to one. You can also subscribe to a thread that you did not post in, if you wish to just follow that thread.

    2nd Option
    Go to the "Quick Links" / "My Profile".
    At the bottom left, are 2 options
    "View all Your Posts" or
    "View all Threads Started by You"
    Again, not limited to just the last 10 posts

    This is actually faster than before.
