My sister and I are new drivers and we absolutely love our moms new Prius. One thing that is nice is that mom does not have to give us the keys for us to drive when we have an adult in the car with us. Also with the addition of fish eye mirrors this car has amazing maneuverability. I think I might get one in black after I get out of college.

Agreed! 'tis very easy to drive, and surprisingly fun, and instills good driving habits ;-).

Just leave it on then. It'll automatically turn off when you open the driver's door.

True, but I'm not always the one who's driving and mom has a habit of turning them off.

ahh well. I assume you have a US model.. shouldn't be too much of a problem with the headlights, especially if you're learning because not every car has AUTO-OFF or AUTO headlights for that matter so getting used to turning it on and off is a good thing.

Just remember to learn how to drive properly (you are in the Learner's stage right? judging by your posts) and worry about the car's gadgets and gizmos later. (such as maximising mpg and looking at the Energy Monitor).

It was nice... we got the car before I started driving so I got to test the gizmos from the passengers seat and now they don't distract me. And yes i'm in the temporary permit stage.
