So I've just started trying to transfer my Motorola RAZR's phone book to my Prius, but I can't figure out how to send the entire phone book. Right now I have to go to each phone book entry and transfer them one by one to the Prius. Is there a way to transfer the entire phone book from the RAZR to the Prius via the bluetooth connection?

There have been a number of threads on this same topic...

but basically ...with RAZR (which I have with Cingular service) you have to transfer one by one...once you get it going, it goes pretty quickly.

Then you can move some to Speed Dial and Voice tag some as well.

I don't use the voice tags (which I programmed already) because it won't let me while I'm driving, but I can use Speed Dian and dial by speaking a number in while I'm driving).

But you're right...one by one...I figured this out myself. Later I went to Cingular and they confirmed this.

Now that I'm set up, though, I love the wirless system!!

You can use voice tags while driving. Just say "dial by name" and then say the voice tag. I have a Moto V557 through Cingular and this is how I make all of my calls while driving.

Transfer the entire phone book? I can't figure how do put just one name and number in manually! I cant find anything in the owner's manual for the phone. I know it probably is easy, but I'm just not seeing how to do it. Can anyone help?

I can sort of help: I have Motorola RAZR and Verizon Wireless... Verizon's firmware disables COMPLETELY the ability to BT transfer phonebook data... they think they own your phonebook or some such BS. So in my case, and possibly in yours, it's not possible.

With almost every phone, you go to any contact. There should be "options" for this contact.
One of them should be something like "Send". Maybe a sub-menu says "via ..." Bluetooth. If not, then, I am afraid that your phone does not support this Object Push profile of Bluetooth. Or, maybe Verizon asked your phone manufacturer to deactivate it.
With Sony-Ericsson, you are able to select all contacts and send via Bluetooth. Some phones do support sending all contacts in one shot, but NOT Motorola.

Some phones do not have the capability of exporting the phone book, some can transfer the complete numbers list in one operation and others can do only 1-10 contacts at a time. What kind of phone do you have? Who is your carrier?

I was lucky by the sound of it. I transferred my entire phone book from my Blackberry in less than 30 sec. with one push of button. I know that is no concellation for the Razor owners, but at least the Blackberry worked well in one fell swoop.

    spinner bug.
I had no problem getting the MFD to accept the Blackberry... works great. My problem now is...
How did you transfer the Blackberry phone book?
The MFD asks for the transfer from the Blackberry... but, I can't find where the Blackberry sends the phonebook to the MFD....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I guess spinnerbug can answer your question better than I do, but before he does,
usually the operation involves some kind of "select all" contacts, and then find a "Send" command under options.

Re: How can I transfer my entire phone's phone book in one shot?

I called t mobil and they transferred me to thier Blackberry expert.
The first thing he asked me was what version I was running. Evidently my Blackberry had an older version operating system.

We then had to go online and download the latest version of the Blackberry platform onto my computer. This process took about 30 minutes. Then we plugged the Blackberry into the computer and downloaded the latest version of the platform into the Blackberry. This took another 30 minutes.

To my delight everything worked great.

The Blackberry with it's latest platform...downloaded it's phonebook into our Prius in 30 seconds.
Thanks to the great support of T-Mobil and Dave at T-Mobil Blackberry.
