    No more spread out than usual I guess. Been to visit Mom & Dad twice (on Saturday to show them the car, and then usual Sunday dinner on Sunday), that's 104 KM for both round trips right there. Plus a few trips to visit friends downtown and whatnot. I gotta get in all the driving I can. LOL.

    ok that's far lol... 104km round trip. That's like me going 3-4 cities to the east for Olive Garden!

    Awesome ride Mab's!!! That's basically the same one I got 11 days ago, 'cept here in NY they call it Touring with an HI Pkg...

    My experience with the Turanza's was the same as yours, and yesterday I had Bridgestone Blizzak LM50's put on there...amazing difference.

    Temp's here have been in the low 30's, and I've been averaging about 43.6 MPG since I drove it off the car lot.

    781 miles (~1256km)on it so far...I do a lot of driving (and I've only filled up the tank once).

    So, I finally got the Toyos put on today, and while I didn't go for Bosch Icons, I did end up with a set of PIAA wipers, and they work like a dream. No streaking, clears the snow right off. I'm really rather impressed.

    The Toyos are also fantastic. It has, of course, started snowing again (expecting 5-10 I think tonight) so I had a chance to take it for a quick spin today and I was really impressed. From a dead stop, there was barely any spinning, taking turns the understeer problem was virtually gone and I only noticed any substantial slipping when purposely flooring it on snowy/slushy roads. So far, I'm really impressed. They even have a really agressive looking tread that just looks like it eats through the snow. A+ from that.

    Congratulations! As one 2008 owner to another - yipeee! I've had my sweet Silver Pine Mica Package 5 for all of 25 days now, each happier than the last.

    And yeah, that cargo net sounds awfully inviting...

    Are they winter wipers/blades? Can I use them year round? (I kinda wanna change my wiper to the more aerodynamic ones found on the new cars so that ice doesn't jam in between the arch supports).


    Yeah tyres make a HUGE difference on the Prius (probably the same for other cars but I think it's most notably on the Prius because of the stock tyres).

    Yeah, they're all-season wiper blades, and they perform admirably in the snow. I imagine they'll do well in the rain.

    It's amazing just how much difference a good set of tires can really help the performance of a vehicle. I find it amazing that they are one of the most neglected safety features on a car. It kind of boggles the mind.

    I finally got my first <5.0L/100km 5 minute segment today (of course, no photographic proof to back it up), but it was much milder today (only -7, as opposed to the -20 it was the first few days I picked it up) and I've got the grill blocked off and the tires properly inflated. I'd say it was probably at 2.6 or 2.7 L/100km for the 5 min segment. It was partly highway and partly 60 km/h road. even doing slightly above limit, I am just amazed by the fuel efficiency. My tank average (390km) is now back down to 7.9 L/100km. Although I've only gotten 390 out of the tank, and it's already down to one pip (fueling up tomorrow morning). Curious.

    Nice! Do a couple of those in the summers and you'll be hitting the 4.3L/100km mark in no time.


    that's not bad. Here where's it's barely above freezing in the day (sometimes up to 5-7°C), I get about 450-500 per tank. My average is about 5.0L/100km though.
