mine was just not to be cleaned, it was something hard stuck to it. I made the mistake of using a single edge razor blade, got the gunk off but now the screen won't work when I press at the different locations. Can I polish out the very fine scratches to make it work again?

    new to this list.

There are tiny wires in the touch screen so it knows where you touch. You may have severed one of them. If the screen is nicked, and it's deep enough, then it is probably a severed connection. If there's no obvious physical damage, then try taking it to the dealer if it's under warranty

Did you accidently turn it off while cleaning it?

I believe the Prius MFD uses capacitive touch screen technology so there are no wires to cut or break.

Do you than think it may be possible to use a polish for plexglass to remove the tiny scratches?

    Yikes.

    You might try Meguiar's PlastX.

Don't use anything with ammonia or alcohol.

If you can feel the depth of the scratch with your fingernail, then polishing is unlikely to help.

:eek:A razor on a plastic screen??!! That is a scary thought. I don't think a repair would be covered by warantee.
