I could use some help in the xmfan forum

:iagree I thought about posting some basic 'fact' corrections, etc but decided I really wouldn't convince anyone. The topic had been dead for 5 months. They already claimed you were a Toyota employee troll for posting first in the 'off topic' forum.

I'm letting sleeping dogs lie. PriusChat was mentioned. Anyone in that forum who actually cares to learns about the Prius will come here.

 

I initially wasn't going to say anything the first time I saw that thread as it was dead. Since he stirred it up, I posted my opinions. I used alot more tact in my replies, however.

Personally, I don't care for trolling a group. It is not productive for anyone, and only stirrs up resentment amongst the regulars, and ultimately brings a site down - not that it'll take much for that one. Personally, jaguaraja, IMO you did more to validate their stereotypic viewpoints than to prove them wrong. The kind of rousting done over there, would get a thread locked over here.

My statements will probably fall on deaf ears. Whether or not I remain on that forum or not will depend on what I ultimately find elsewhere in their discussion forums, and the overall attitude of the regulars.

 

I don't know. I was expecting to either be ignored, or insulted. Instead, I received some interesting questions. Seems like the ones who are open minded, are still listening. I have acknowledged what I have felt are shortcomings in the new car as well - primarily the head room in back.

 

Based on reading that read it appears there are tons of low life crap posting on that board. If I were you, I'd save your fingers. You're wasting your time. Ignorant juvenile low lifes are not worth the effort. As an FYI... I just bought a Mini Cooper Convertible for the weekend. REALLY fun car BUT it is nearly 3 feet shorter than a Prius, weighs a little less, but gets about 28 MPG. Granted I was going 90 a big portion of the highway back from Philly, but still. The Prius is still a fantastic car.

 

well I just and to add my $.02 worth... and then put on my flame suit.. I like my Prius... had I not why would I have traded in my '02 for a '04... GM is missing the boat.. I think.. They even had to close the Oldsmobile line down.. sad to see them go though...

The reason everyone over at XMFan is so intolerant and strange is that all the intelligent and caring people moved to www.xm411.com after the XMFan website split. You will get banned or reprimanded at XMFan for even mentioning XM411 in a good way. I was a member of XMFan when it happened, so if you want information about XM, go to XM411. The people are nicer and know a lot more.

 

Well, Hello everyone. Just wanted to stop by and say hello. I don't work for GM and I fail to see how any of you have proven any better of a point than what I have. Thanks for your time, and BTW, Ziggy of xm411 was the problem with the two sites.

Welcome aboard. You will find that while we are definitely in love with our Prius's here, we are also aware of its shortcomings. The most knowledgeable about Prius specifics are probable john1701a and DanMan2 but there are a number of others.

Just a quick note as I have been reading along on the xmfan board without joining or posting. I think things here tend to be a little more civil overall when it comes to the personal attacks department. So read and enjoy and maybe at least appreciate where we are coming from even if you vehemently disagree. And join in the reasonable discourse that we have here when you feel so moved.

 

I'm a friend with a moderator and hes watching the thread closely but he will not lock it unless all hell breaks out, just as long as it is a civilized conversation it will remained unlocked.

 

Yes we are tolerant, did you think I would let you just post and ignore you or resort to name calling or something else along those lines?

Why can't you be just as accepting, your the one that barged in to bring back the thread.
